Great game. Big box

The only con I can find is the box size. It was a little obvious for the amount of cards that come in. This thing is huge (about 3x the classic Exploding Kittens box). I think they made it this big to make the cone fit inside. It's a little annoying to organize the card types every time you want to play a different recipe. But the amount of cards in this thing is insane. Will provide plenty of game time. Exploding kittens is always a great game.

Just the same cards

The recipes are a fun way to keep the play random, I at first liked they try for organizing but as far as making a set for recipe it was easier to pick up the deck and just look for the cards

Wish I'd just repurchased the original game and expansions

We love the Exploding Kittens game and have the original deck plus the Imploding and Streaking expansions. Unfortunately, there's a design flaw on the cards with the backs being red. It allows us to see the wear on the edges making it easier to cheat (and actually hard not) to when we can identify the Defuse and Exploding Kitten cards from the back. Because of this issue, I decided to replace the deck and thought this would be a great replacement. Unfortunately, we really like some cards that aren't included in this version, and found the recipes lacking. We prefer just to use the whole deck. I'm also not a fan of the size of the box. It's huge. A great thing about Exploding Kittens is that it's compact and doesn't take up much space. I'd prefer to just not have the Cone of Shame inside the box, or if a smaller box for just the cards and instruments was included.

This game it the greatest!

The original exploding kittens is one of my favorite games. This one is now too! It has so many new cards and different variations to the original game. It tells you how to make each deck to play different versions of the game, even how to make a game playable by only two players. Super fun!

Our favorite game to play together.

Nice variation from the original. Lots of different ways to play as well as make up your own version so wont get boring quickly. You can spend as much time enjoying the cards and art and you do playing the actual game.

Absolutely hilarious game

Most fun game for family EVER! Easy to learn and master but chaos rules anyway you play. We laughed and laughed for hours, playing each of the recipes. Best of all, blank recipes let you make up your own card sets for custom games. Definitely worth it. Here's wishing there was a real "Nope" card in real life.

Not just a greatest hits collection.

While the Recipes for Disaster set could easily have been treated like a deluxe box set simply drawing cards from the base game and expansions and still be pretty good, this is not some simple compilation. Each recipe card details the types and quantities of cards used to make a deck that will deliver a game of Exploding Kittens unlike any other. My 7 year old sons and I have been playing through the recipe cards and are really enjoying the variation of gameplay they create. I would point out though that “13 recipes” is slightly misleading as there are actually only 10 unique recipes for groups of 2-5 players and three duplicated recipes that are strictly for 2 players. That notwithstanding this is a great game and totally enjoyable because of the variety it offers.

So many variations

Great game. The kids love it (and so do I) and with so many ‘recipe’ variation it keeps the game fresh without becoming predictable. The box also has great segregated storage to organize the cards so picking out the required cards for each recipe can be quick and easy. Good explainer videos on the games website so easy to pickup the basics straight away. Well worth buying this version of the game.
