A massive upgrade
This is one of those nifty gadgets that borders on miraculous. It anticipates a market for those who want to do two things at once which at first seem mutually exclusive: tow standard garden trailers AND/OR tow larger trailers with an automotive style hitch. Yet as is also the case with such clever product, it's easy to overlook the reason WHY those two towing systems are different. Put another way: There is a reason why automotive hitches are designed differently than simple garden trailer hitches. Even if you manage to mount a ball to your lawn tractor, the problem is what happens when you go to tow something heavy. Most of today's lawn tractors are not built to to heavy loads. Even if they can be retrofitted to do it, the cheap hydrostatic transmissions being used these days will suffer and fail prematurely. Many folks learn this lesson the hard way. That being said, there are also many older machines still in service that can very capably tow larger loads. For those, this "dual-purpose" hitch mount is brilliant. It not only allows for two different hitch styles, it places the ball at a level better suited to ball-style trailer tongues. A good rule of thumb for determining what your lawn tractor is capable of is it simply look at the plate where the hole is for attaching a garden trailer. The thinner the steel plate, the lighter-duty the tractor. If the metal is 1/8" or greater - especially if it's 1/4 inch like mine is - you've got a lot to drill through but you've also got yourself a tractor that's capable of handling some heavy stuff.

Better fit for the lawn tractor
Look closely at this one. It is sized shorter to fit most my John Deere LA165 and allows my utility trailer to ride level when pulling it around my property. Very well made. I have pulled the trailer with 2000 pounds of dirt and the hitch worked great.

Perfect for my use.
I use this on a lawn tractor to move a log splitter around on our property. Super easy installation and way sturdier than what I need for my application. Excellent value.

Easy to Install on my Poulan Lawn Tractor
Just had to drill some holes for the top mount, worked better for me installing that brace upside down. Using it to pull a homemade trailer hitch drag down my driveway, no problems so far! Great price also, cheaper than Ebay for the exact same product.

Perfect fit..
Directly bolted on a John Deere S140, no modifications other than drilling the holes. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that hardware was included. I towed my empty 6x10 enclosed trailer without any issues, same with the dump trailer. Not too bad for $35.

Works great, nice solution
I searched for yard tractor hitch solutions and picked this one for the design and listed 3/4" hitch ball support. The design is great, though I needed to drill holes in the tractor back plate to attach. However, this does not support 3/4" shank hitch balls, you need the smaller, harder to find, 5/8" shank. One is on order now, I'll update this review if that size doesn't work either. **UPDATE: Turns out the original hitch ball I bought was mislabeled and had a 1" shank, NOT 3/4". Once I hade the correct hitch, it works as expected.** The other two smaller holes are perfect for a variety of other attachments (trailer, chipper, etc.). I'll need to remove it each spring when I need the tractor for mowing/bagging.

Goes on super easy, even with the drilling and much sturdier than the other models with 'arms'.
Went on my Craftsman T210 in about 30 min. You have to drill, but it's no problem with a set of good drill bits. This thing is rock solid. I am pulling my SeaDoo trailer around my yard with it easily.
