Must read the directions first
This is not your typical timer. You can't just turn it to the time you need. It will countdown but not ring. You first have to turn it to zero first then counter clockwise to the time. Then the buzzer goes off. We'll see how long it lasts before it stops working.

Poultry in motion
I have gone through a number of mechanical kitchen timers. I have come to the conclusion that they don't make 'em like they used to. I had an old timer that lasted twenty years, but every one I've bought since then has broken within months. I would guess the mechanism isn't much different than anything else out there. It's reasonably accurate (but obviously not as accurate as an electronic timer). I haven't had this long enough to judge its long-term durability. Like most mechanical timers, you have to wind it up fully, and then back it up to the desired time interval. I wonder how many poor reviews of mechanical kitchen timers are the result of users not doing this. The alarm bell rings for about five seconds. The loudness is slightly above average, but not as loud as the last one I bought (Taylor Stainless Steel Mechanical Timer, ASIN: B001U21Q78). The timer I bought goes off at the one minute mark, then continues to tick down to zero. No big deal, it's easy to compensate for this. This one was purchased because it's... a chicken. It's not significantly different from any other mechanical timer out there, other than its appearance.

NOT A GOOD TIMER, BELL VERY FAINT, BARELY AUDIBLE
After 1st timer did not ring at all, tried a replacement and bell so faint, barely audible. Too bad, as "chef" is cute, but defeats purpose of having a timer if alarm cannot be heard. Do not waste your money on this product made in China.

On a scale of 1 to 10, seven.
This is a very cute little timer, I’ve only used it once or twice so I’m not sure if it’s accurate. It’s not as loud as I hoped it would be

Cute
Not a large as the one I had but accidentally "cooked" on my stove. However, it is cute but a little smaller. Next to the one I had it looks like mother/daughter.

Not great for accurate timing
Cute timer, but disappointed that it doesn't keep accurate time. It's close enough to use for everyday tasks, but if you are needing a precise countdown, I'd go with another product.

Very cute chef timer
I bought this for my mom who had one for over 10 years hers broke and she had been unable to find the same one and amazon was the only place I could find this exact same timer. She was thrilled when I bought it for her.

Piece of garbage
Ordered three timers as gifts. The boxes they came in were crushed, scotch taped together. When turned on to 10 minutes to time item. One never moved past 10 two other went off after 8 minutes before got to zero. Absolute piece of junk. Don't buy this item.

Chef Timer already broken.
It lasted for a short time and then just quit working. I bought a similar style timer at the $ Store for $2. and it's still working. I feel this item is over priced and not worth buying.

FAULTY GOODS SENT - APPALLING ATTITUDE
I bought this kitchen Timer in good faith but after two usages, all the parts inside rattled and it was broken. It is very expensive for what it actually is and looks cheaply made and very overrated by the seller. I advise anyone buying a Timer to go to a different company and they also reneged on their written promise of a refund and only Amazon itself assisted me. Very defensive company to deal with.
