Good Product

Good tool, not a great gift

This is a great training tool. It fits securely on the stick, and can be moved anywhere on the handle. We played around with it a lot, and the weighted bag stayed securely in place. (There is a vertical hook-and-loop strap, but the two horizontal ones, along with the "grippy lines" inside, are what is really holding it tight.) It did add weight, but never felt as if it might be breaking the stick. The weight bars (used to adjust the overall weight) are easy to place and remove. They are inside the pouch and don't get jostled loose during use. The weight isn't very giftable, though. It doesn't come with any retail labeling -- there's no wrapper or external tags or even a sticker. There are also no directions or other information in the bag. The only indicator of what this thing is is a tag sewn inside the weight pouch. It says "Ice hockey stick weight," but it's deep inside the product. So, this is great if you know what it is! Update: After a bunch of practice sessions, the weight no longer stays high on the stick, no matter how tightly we attach it. It has even slid down to the heel of the blade and gotten torn up a few times. So, we've started adding some clear hockey tape and it still works well.

Great for building stick strength

Bought this for my u14 daughter. She has been using it at practice to help develop a bit more stick strength. It has worked great, as she believes she has more strength battling for the puck and keeping puck on stick in a crowd. Secondary benefit has been a slightly harder shot. Generally its unobtrusive during practice, but she has to remove depending on the drills being done that day. She also uses it during shooting practice at home. Well made and seems to stay on the stick.

The ability to adjust the weight is where it is at!!!

I got this stick weight for my daughter as she is almost 7 and the other stick weight we have is a fixed weight that is too much for her right now. This one allows you to adjust it with 4 different weight amounts! So she can gradually increase the weight as she likes and wants to. The actual weight bars slide in and out extremely easy but they will not just fall out on you either. The bag is nice to have to store the extra weight bars when they are not in use. The grippy section of the wrap is great as once you place it on the stick it stays put. We spent more on the first one and I wish we would have gotten 2 of these instead! Great hockey training accessory to add to the lineup!!!

Excellent Training Aid

Brought this to practice and had the kids use it during warmups. Great way to strengthen the forearms in younger players who are too young to lift weights. Training with this helps players increase the speed of their shots as well as their ability to compete for the puck one-on-one.

Great for strength training

Put it on my daughter's extra hockey sticks to give her more strength in her shot. After using it for one session we took it off and her next few shots were much improved in height and speed. We will continue using it to help her get better with passing and shooting.

this is a great idea to help with training. i saw this and it's just like the weights baseball players put on their bats. i got this for my nephew to help him with his training and he said he does really like it. seems like it will work out great.

Best stick weight on the market!!

Let me start by saying this is not the first stick weight I have ever purchased. Playing hockey all my life I have bought many of these in the past and none of them have ever came to being as good as this. First, it has multiple Velcro straps to keep it snug against the stick. It also has silicone strips (see the picture with the black shiny zig zags) on the inside which really help it from sliding up or down the stick when shooting. Lastly, it allows you to take out the weights so you can start light and move heavier as you feel more comfortable. This will be the last brand of stick weights I ever try. It is that good! If you are in the market to buy one then there is no need to look any further. I would buy this 100/100 times. This gets 5 stars all day long.
