Perfect, but not for 3/4" stock

When ordering this bit, I didn't pay enough attention to the height of the cutting edge - 25/32" which is too high for 3/4" stock. My mistake, not the bit's. This bit cuts nearly like butter in cherry, with no burning or tear-out. Because of the height of the bit, 7/8" or 1" would be a good stock thickness. On the package, the life size (1:1) drawing of the bit profile shows the wood stock with a thickness of 7/8". I have run samples with both 7/8" and 1", and both look good. I took 3-4 four passes in a router table to avoid tear out on cherry. I probably could have done it in two passes, but I wanted to be sure. The last pass was only taking about 1/32" just for cleanup. I have not cut end-grain yet, but I assume it was be great with that too. When done, the profile looks very nice, slightly fancier than the standard table edge bits.

Flawless Results!

This is a excellent router bit. It did a fantastic job on a custom furniture top I built. One pass cutting on oak leaving a smooth finish that did not require sanding. I have never been disappointed with the many freud router bits and saw blades I have purchased over the years. Freud simply the best.

Sawdust maker

This large profile bit is amazing. It has been a well used item in my arsenal of big bits. I have used it weekly with great success in my shaper. The carbide refuses to chip and can withstand multiple sharpening. Highly recommended.
