The buckle may buckle
This is a great leash, at a great price 1 collar or noose, almost never gets under a dog’s legs. A real gift, to the owner! No more bending over, untangling dog legs from their leash. 2 Quality of the leash rope is top notch. This won’t snap or rip easily. Sturdy. Easy to clean. 3 Leather buckle that makes collar fit to your dog’s neck gives way over time. It’s leather, it stretches. Older or placid dogs the buckle shouldn’t be an issue. Rescued new dog 1 yr ago. Finished leash used training, returned to this leash. Had been my go to with prior pup. Rambunctious puppy, buckle loosened more and more until was useless. One day I the grabbed leash and buckle was gone! Still works without the buckle, but not as well. I took pup to beach, put leash on to leave but gave here one last free run before we left. Came back to me with no leash! Disappeared into the ether. 4 Quality for price of leash a bargain. After leash went missing at beach I tried another new leash, some old leashes. None as good as this. I just purchased a new one. Don’t mind having to replace 2-3 years after original purchase. Totally worth every penny!

Leather tab adjustment wore off rendering leash uselsess
I really liked this leash as it's super convenient for quick peepee runs (no harness etc) however, my dog who never chews on anything bit through the leather tab adjuster in less than one minute. Literally in between stop lights in the car seated next to me I noticed her start to chew on it when I was driving. By the time we reached the end of the street at the very next stop light I saw that the tab was already chewed thru rendering the otherwise new leash completely useless. Trying to see if this is covered under warranty....

Dog Loves it!
Works great for our stubborn Plott Hound who like to pull. As soon as he picks a sent he’s on a mission. This hinders the pulling.

The perfect lead for my growing Saint
I was unsure at first when reading the few bad reviews, and while there's always a defective unit that slips through every once in awhile, a lot of the bad reviews are because they don't know what they're talking about. First, this loop stopper they complain about being on the lead. It's for the safety of the dog, genius. While you want the lead to tighten if the dog pulls and then stop pulling because it's uncomfortable, some dogs are so poorly trained, that with no stopper, they'll keep pulling and could injure themselves. But by all means, if you'd like to hurt your dog, just cut the thing off. As for the stopper not being adjustable, it is. But use your head. If it were just able to slide down the rope, then it really wouldn't be a useful stopper, now would it? Push both sides of the rope through the stopper creating a small loop on the other side. Pull back one side of the rope to adjust accordingly. Don't create a size smaller than your dogs neck. That's just ignorant. For the crybabies who complain about the loop not holding a perfect circle, that's just the stopper being slightly off. All you have to do is play with the stopper and roll the rope into different positions until it holds a good circle. Geez, just takes 2 minutes to figure it out. As for the ones who say the rope didn't last long because your dog chewed it easily. Really? The problem is you and your training, not this lead. Your dog probably chewed a leg of a chair, but expect this lead to be indestructible. The only legitimate complaint I can maybe see is the little leather slide lock wearing out too fast, but maybe it's going on the dogs neck to tight and the metal ring is pushing back. Or you're trying to slide it down the rope by grabbing the metal button, making it slide up and down unevenly, which cuts into the leather. Stop. But if it does fail, just cut up an old wallet or belt and hand stitch a new one on. Problem solved

Exactly what I wanted!
This leash is perfect for quick walks to the mailbox or a potty break. When we travel, my dog has a collar and matching leash, but he doesn't wear his collar all the time at home. This one-piece combo is exactly what I wanted. I can adjust the loop to go over his head then slide it secure. The opposite loop is the hand grip. I love the heft of the woven cord. It's the right length for me to keep stride with my dog, but there's not too much extra to manage when we've got business to do. For example, when we get up in the morning, I take him out to relieve himself first thing. It's still dark. I'm in my pajamas. He needs to go! I take this leash off the hook by the door, secure it over his head, slip on flip flops, and we're out the door in seconds. It's just exactly the right thing.

Not great
I have a 4 month old standard poodle that basically drags me our entire walk. I’ve seen a lot of people have success by training on a slip lead leash. This leash is just ok. It did not stop my puppy from pulling despite working with him in the driveway for a couple of hours. It might be the puppy, but I think the leash is too thick to be effective as a slip lead. The stopper to keep the slip from loosening does not stay in place so it slips further down the pups neck also making it ineffective. The leash also has a reflective band woven throughout the leash and in some places it felt spiky and hurt to hold. Also it is marketed as leather, please know it is plastic leather. Might work great as a normal leash but not great as a slip lead, I’m returning.

Hard to find item
Have two 50 pound dogs. We’re very hard to find after trying numerous stores looked on line and found exactly what we needed to replace old leashes. They keep pets safe and secure.

Love this leash
Bought this leash when we adopted our new dog. She’s about 35-40 lbs. I would have lost her if I didn’t have her in this leash. She was skittish when we first brought her home. I took her on a walk one day and she was spooked by a bike going by. She started running backwards and pulling. Luckily I was able to get us out of the situation quick and she wasn’t able to break free of the leash. With a normal collar and leash she would have been able to back right out of it.

Great product
I really like this. I like the material, it’s comfortable to hold, it’s slightly longer than our usual lead & I like the colour combo. I have the black & White & I have a black dog so at least cats will see her as we start to get darker evenings!

So happy with this!
I almost didn't buy this because of the style. But now that I have it, I am so happy that I took a chance on it. We use it ALL the time. It especially came in handy when our two barn dogs (who don't wear collars) got loose. We were able to easily get them on leash and back in the barn. We even ended up using it to move two of our cows! After a couple of months it has one small tear, but it hasn't gotten any bigger. We are TOUGH on this leash and it's still in great shape. I'll definitely be getting another.

Too thick for a dog’s neck
The quality is good but it is too thick for a dog’s neck. A good slip lead must be very flexible/pliable and this sliplead was VERY STIFF. Used for about a month and my dog’s neck was getting red because of the rubbing (she wasnt even much of a puller) so id really be cautious if you have a dog that pulls you might end up hurting your dog. I eventually got a decent one from our trainer and the difference was night and day. I would still keep this slip lead as emergency if i need to break up a dog fight. TLDR too thick too stiff dont get it if you have a puller

My go to lead
This works wonders with training, with the rope being round, it doesn't choke my dog when lunges at a squirrel. The stoppers on both sides of the collar end makes it safe for any pup.
