Fitted sheet is hard to put on and doesn’t cover the short sides of 13” mattress completely

I ordered this set of sheets for my daughter’s full size 13” thick mattress. The fitted sheet has a very tight fit and requires strength and determination to put it on. When the set arrived I machine washed and tumble dried it on low settings. I then instructed my teen to put it on her mattress. After I few minutes I heard “this sheet is too small, mom!”. I went to her room and spent several minutes pulling and adjusting the sheet until it covered the mattress almost completely. The long sides are easier to fit and cover completely the mattress, although they don’t have almost any fabric left to tuck under. The short sides are not fully covered even with my best effort. I’m also worrying about the stitching, especially in the corners because of how stretched that sheet is on the mattress. The flat sheet and two pillow cases fit as expected. The cotton fabric is soft and rather thin but not see-through or flimsy. It’s breathable and good for summer. I ordered this set because it was advertised to fit mattresses up to 16” thick. Judging on how hard it is to fit it on my daughter’s 13” mattress I can’t imagine that it can fit a 16” one. It’s a good price for a cotton sheet sets but the sizing of the fitted sheet is off.

Feel nice, but don't fit right

While the material these sheets are made out of are quite nice, they have the major issue of not fitting quite right. The fitted sheet is very tight on my matress. While the can be made to go on with some effort, it looks and feels forced on and slowly pulls off due to the tightness as the bed is used. It's quite unfortunate since, as I said, the sheets feel comfortable.

Not Fancy but Great Value for 100% Cotton Sheets

Fortunately, I am having a good experience with the Sweet Home sheet set. I ordered the FULL size, and it fits a Full size mattress on a futon. I first washed the whole set in cold water and then tumble dry low. The flat sheet was initially 90” X 96” and after washing, it became 88” X 96”. On the packaging, it states for the Flat sheet size as 81” X 96” + 4”. For the fitted sheet, 54” X 75”+15”. For the pillowcases 20” X 30”+4”. I honestly am not sure what that means. There were no extra inches on any of the items to compensate for shrinking. Anyway, everything fitted the Full size mattress and standard pillows perfectly. As far as comfort, my son states they are “just fine” to sleep in. They don’t feel scratchy to him. The fabric is 100% cotton and 200 Thread count. They aren’t hotel quality, but then the price doesn’t reflect hotel quality price, either. The color didn’t fade in the wash. These are great value budget sheet set for college dorm or setting up first apartment.
