Garcima 8-Inch Carbon Steel Paella Pan, 20cm 1

Brand:Garcima

This pan is the perfect size for serving tapas or a petite paella for one. Its 2 handles are made of steel and painted red. The pan is made of carbon steel (aka polished steel, or acero pulido), which is ideal for paella since it conducts heat quickly. The pan is thin but quite rigid and durable, with a dimpled bottom. Carbon steel is the traditional material for paella, and some paella devotees feel that it enhances flavor. As with any raw steel pan, it requires some care: you must dry the pan right after washing it and then rub the inside with a little vegetable oil to prevent rusting. If the pan does rust, a few passes with steel wool takes it right off.

challenging
This pan makes my paella taste like metal. Not the first time I used it, but definitely the second time. Then I found on the internet says you have to season it several times (the instructions don't mention this at all), so I did. That certainly helped...but I can still taste the pan in the food. If you're a Spanish chef, maybe you know how to deal with this. But I'm an amateur, so I'm throwing it away and getting a stainless steel one.

Cute
Nice. These are the original, but smaller. I’m going to use them to serve the paella I make on my big paella pan

Great Pan
To start, this ia carbon steel and you have to be willing to season and take care of it. If you can handle the care and maintenance of carbon steel, this is a fantastic little pan perfect for a two person meal.

Barbie’s paella skillet
Way too small. No way that this is for 2 portions.

Good for intended use!
Really like this product, but must really dry off water properly or it will quickly rust

Good size for one.
I have not used it yet, but it is a perfect size for one person.

Cool look but stainless would be better...
They’ll look terrible after a couple of uses, even though I dry them thoroughly. Also leaves a bit of a metallic odor/taste...
