Garlic Barrier is a very strong liquid garlic extract that mixes with water and is sprayed on farm and garden plants to keep insects off. The garlic used in Garlic Barrier is a very powerful variety which is much more potent than the garlic found in grocery stores (in fact, our lab people here refer to it as "super garlic"). There is a huge list of insects that it works on and you may see them by reviewing our label on this web site (see link to label info at page bottom). One gallon, properly mixed with water, covers 10 to 12 acres of row crops or 5 acres of orchards. It imparts no garlic taste on any crops or plants that are sprayed. The odor of garlic in the air or on the plant disappears in about 30 minutes. It's all natural and listed by OMRI as suitable for organic farm use. It's marvelous for farm, home garden and lawn care use and completely safe around people, pets, animals and fish.

Quasi Scientific Mosquito Test Here:
Short Version: I give it a B-, which is enough for me to keep using it. (I'm in the northeast U.S.) Long Version: -I wasn't sure if this product would actually work or not, but my mosquito problem is bad enough that I gave it a try. -I purchased a pump sprayer, and applying the garlic spray was easy and fast. -I have a row of newly planted thuja (ceder bushes) and am amazed at how many mosquitos fly from them when I lightly shake them. Mosquitos LOVE this type of bush, which makes it a perfect test area for the spray. -On several occasions I have lightly sprayed one area of the bushes (the eastern side of a long row) with the garlic. The following day, I would shake those bushes to see how many mosquitos vacated the bushes and would compare it to the other end of the (unsprayed) hedge row. -Well son of a gun, there were far fewer mosquitos coming from the sprayed bushes. Roughly 1 or 2 mosquitos compared to 12+ coming from the unsprayed. -Do they just land somewhere else on the property, and annoy us equally? Maybe, but I think the result = more displaced mosquitoes, some/many of whom leave the garlic area. -The smell - yep, you'll smell (sort of) like an Italian restaurant. But, if almost entirely dissipates overnight. -I haven't tested it long enough to determine how often I need to reapply, but it seems to reduce the mosquitoes on that hedge row for at least several days. And, it's easy to reapply. My recommendation: It's worth a try, and probably helps rid your property of 30-60% of your mosquitoes. If we know we're going to spend time outside, I spray the day before.

Works! Works! Works! Be ready to re-apply frequently
It's not often that I sit down to write a product review on the same day that I receive an item from Amazon. This stuff is just that impressive. I received the bottle this morning. I was really dreading going out to do some weeding in a long-ignored flower bed because my community is surrounded by lakes and there's no mosquito control. Plus it had been raining, was a cool summer day, and was still overcast. I mixed up a gallon of this stuff, poured it into an automatic sprayer, and headed out. I sprayed the perimeter of my yard, starting with the Flowerbed of Doom. When I started spraying, I was getting swarmed pretty bad by mosquitoes. By the time I looped around and made it back to the flower bed, however, there were no more mosquitoes. I was out in that weedpatch for three solid hours and didn't get a single mosquito bite. In this area, that's absolutely unheard of (unless it's January). Yes, my whole yard smelled like garlic immediately following the spray. Yes, it's noticeable. Yes, it made me want a warm basket of fresh bread sticks. And yes, I've now gone an entire Minnesota summer day without getting bit by a single mosquito even though I was ripping through weeds and vegetation like a maniac for a few hours. I don't know how long this will last or how often it will need reapplication. I'm just checking in to say that this stuff works quickly and is more effective than I'd dared hope. ETA: While this worked great at first, within a few (non-rainy) days, it was much less effective. I think it was still better than nothing. It's hard to stay on top of the applications because it seems like every time I get out to do it, it rains the next day and all that garlicky goodness gets washed away. I still think it's a pretty cool product and I recommend it. IDK if this actually makes a difference or not, but I store the bottle of concentrate in the refrigerator, and that seems to keep it nice and potent for a long time.

Misleading label - only 30% garlic, unlike the large bottle option of garlic barrier.
I bought this product because I wanted a small bottle of Garlic Barrier insect repellent. The image of this bottle appears in this listing to have the same labeling as the large bottle of garlic barrier insect repellent, but doesn’t show the percentage of garlic in the ingredients. However, when the product came, it had a different label than is on the listing, and it clearly lists ingredients as only 30% garlic, and 69.3% water. The advertising for this product is sloppy at best, and outright deceptive at worst. Go with mosquito barrier if you need a small bottle. It is in reality mostly garlic… not mostly water. Though it is more expensive.

Worked perfectly for peach leaf curl during season
We planted a peach tree last year and I failed to read on how to care for it - I missed the fall and early spring season where I was suppose to treat the tree with sulfur/copper spray to prevent leaf curl fungal disease. So when the season started my peach tree had tons of leaves that started to curl with red areas. My tree looked sick and I started googling and reading up on what I could do. Once you miss the window during fall/spring you can't apply the copper spray BUT I came across some recommendations on this natural garlic barrier spray that it was safe to use during the season to help. I ordered it on Amazon and used the diluted spray a on the tree and also removed the curled leaves. AND it WORKED WONDERS!! It controlled the leaf curl and my peaches was not affected. I highly recommend this product.

Mosquito repellent & blood sucker free
I was having a big problem with mosquitos at my front door especially after raining, tried about everything I could find and no luck. I came across this in a community message & glad I did!! They are gone & can enter my house without mosquitos swarming me or all around my front door. I can actually be outside enjoying my yard. I have a large front and back yard so will have to purchase a larger size. The smell is pretty strong but fades. I think the mailman is relieved he can walk up without getting swarmed as well????????
