Sheets can be cut-to-fit 1/2 sheet, 1/3 sheet, or ¼ sheet sanders. Use dry during the preparation phase of a project, usually when removing existing finishes, rust and oxidation; it is also key when sanding and shaping body fillers and primer coats. When sanding wood, 600 grit waterproof sheets are ideal for smoothing and de-nibbing top coats, as well as surface preparation before soft rub out of cured top coats. Made with a premium grain, which offers a higher cut rate and uniform scratch pattern which makes it perfect for achieving fine finishes. 600 grit sheets are best for sanding between coats of paint and to wet sand primer coats.

Works great wet or dry

I tried many different types of sand paper on my knife blades, but keep returning to the gator paper because of it's durability when wet and it's long lasting sharpness,

Good for metal

Good solid sandpaper, it's great for finishing metal. I use this for finishing hand made knives. This works well wet sanding on steel. Silicon carbide is ideal for metal.

Best 400 grit S/C wet/dry paper ever!

This is some of the best wet/dry s/c paper that I've ever used. I often use this on hardened steel, and the difference in quality between this and lesser papers (I'm looking at you 3M tri-M-ite paper!). In fact, the only paper that I've ever used that is better than this is the Norton Norzon blue Zirconia paper, that they sadly no longer make in the higher grits.

excellent quality at a value price

I bought the 400 grit as well as 320, and like both. I use these for car restoration and high grade wood-working and the are perfectly acceptable at an attractive price.
