Very Nice, Smaller Reading Chair
I spent a few months looking for the perfect chair for a small area in my home office. Its main purpose is for reading. This chair was a great choice. The seat is comfortably firm. The arms are low, so my shoulders are not raised while using the chair, which is a huge help to me due to a shoulder injury. The recliner's footrest is shorter than expected, but it's not an issue for me. I am about 5'4" and the footrest ends at my ankles. Although the chair is fairly easy to assemble, it did take both me and my husband about 30 minutes to do it, including the unpacking. Overall, this is the perfect chair for me and my room. I've had it for several months now and I am glad I made this choice.

Half Reclines and Fully Reclines
Okay, I'm officially in love with a chair. Other reviews are correct in that the chair is rather firm, but it's also really supportive and comfortable. The pattern is lovely and would match any room that uses other neutral colors. It took me about 20 minutes to assemble by myself (you just have to put on the legs, secure the sides of the headrest, and put the back of the chair into the base). Other reviews said that you have to be fully reclined in order to have the foot rest up; this is not exactly correct. You can have the footrest up and be SLIGHTLY reclined (but still seated in a position to comfortably watch television) or you can push the back to a full recline/sleeping position. Additionally, I am 5'6" tall, and my feet do not hang off the front of the footrest. If you're under 6' tall, this shouldn't be an issue. I also have some space between my hips and the sides of the chair, and I'm by no means a skinny person. This chair would probably be comfortable for people up to 6'2" tall. The chair seems really sturdy and it fits in the space wonderfully. I'm really happy with my purchase.

This chair is simply amazing for the price.
We always gravitate to Christopher Knight furnishings. Out of all our purchases, we had one problem, one time, and they replaced the entire item in less than 2 days. This purchase again doesn't disappoint. Comfortable, easy, and quite stylish. It sits in a room with pricey furniture fits wonderfully and even stands out. The colors are much better live than the picture, assembly was like 10 minutes - harder to get out of the box than assemble because it was shipped with such care. Great purchase easily at one fifth of the price for something similar at all the furniture stores we have visited.

It takes a little finesse
The chair looks good, sits firm, the mechanics work easily, and it was fairly easy to assemble. You may have to open up the hooks in the wings of the chairs for them to interlock. You may have to use something to mark the holes for the screws in the wings if the chair to line them up properly and you may need a mallet to tap the wings into place. Other than that it went well

Beautiful!
Absolutely lovely. I'm 63 years old (female) and put it together myself, screwing the legs in and placing the back in preset brackets. That's it. It makes such a beautiful statement to my room.

Assembly IS required.
Assembly instructions are clear and the pieces are present and correct. But there is assembly required. I still would have purchased this but would have planned the assembly to not include my roommate. Now I will have to listen to him crow about his "helping" until I die. The chair is adorable and just right for the space. Very pleased with the purchase and would recommend it.

Review - 2 years later
I came back to this order to prove to my husband that it would be cheaper to reupholster this chair than to buy a new one. I figured that while I was here, I might as well give an update. This chair has held up pretty well considering that we have a dog (a cocker spaniel, for size comparison if you have your own pup), a cat (with a usual catty disposition and 14 years old), and 2 kids (ages 2 and 7 when we bought this chair originally). This is my father in law's preferred chair when he comes to visit. He likes that he can sit down and recline without any fancy buttons to worry about. He's a tall man (a little over 6 foot) and 80 years old, probably just over 200 pounds (maybe less lately). He's not gentle on furniture but the chair does well and he tends to fall asleep in it if he's sitting for more than 20 minutes. I don't find it that comfortable compared to our sofa, but it seems to be easier for him to get up from. So why does the chair need to be reupholstered? THE CAT (and to a lesser extend, stains from the children that no cleaner seems to be able to remove). She has completely shredded this chair in multiple places, no matter that we often kept the chair covered with a blanket and cap the cat's claws with rubber covers. I have another recliner chair in another room that she completely ignores but this chair is like a magnet for her. I have also noticed that one of the legs of the chair seems to be turning inward, so I'm concerned that it may collapse someday (hopefully not when my father in law is napping, but maybe when a different guest has outstayed their welcome?). Otherwise, for a three hundred dollar chair that I had to put together myself, it has held up as well as I would expect. If I am unable to reupholster this myself, I will not purchase this chair again - I'll go ahead and spend a little more money on something that won't be so appealing as a scratching post.
