Picks up too much
Used to be the ultimate small parts pick up tool. Until I lost it. The new design ruined it for me. You might like it better, but I don't. Why? Flexible tip.... Who needs it. With a magnet this strong does not matter which way you point it. Which gets to my second gripe. Why so strong? Who needs a tiny little magnet that can pick up a fire extinguisher. I need something for picking up bits that have slunk down into my tool pouch, or picking out the 1 best screw out of dozens. This won't let me do that-picks up too much.

You can find a use for this thing.
Very strong magnet. Unfortunately the angle couldn't get down my tub drain pipe--I lost the arm to my tub stopper : / Found a different use for it though. I dropped a bunch of binder clips in the kitchen and some went under the oven. I know I could've just pulled out the oven and picked up all the clips, but hey--I had this thing!

It's pretty much what you want
Would be 5 stars if I didn't have to super-glue the magnet in place. It likes to accrue random filings, but I take that as a sign of the magnetic power, which has been more than sufficient for keys, screws, and even screwdrivers. It's pretty much what you want.

I like the General brand but this is not one I ...
The magnet is very strong. The small plastic ball that holds it is very weak however. I used it a couple of times before it snapped. As a rule, I like the General brand but this is not one I would recommend.

The magnet was strong but sticked to any thing metal within 3 feet was too much of a pain to use and broke in a week.
