Cool product but manufacturing defects need to be improved

I ordered 14 of these to install in the bedroom, kitchen, and breakfast areas to replace some smaller 4" LED can lights that we didn't like/weren't bright enough. We liked the option with these to be able to change the temperature of the white light and they were plenty bright. The color changing effect was not necessary but an added feature we wanted to try out. The app seems pretty good. Aside from just changing the color or temperature of the white light, the are themes you can customize, all light shades are dimmable through the app, and you can even set schedules, timers, etc. Once the lights are paired with the app, you can group them together to control at the same time or just continue to use your wall switch as always. Of the 14 installed, we seemed to have issues with 4 of them. 1 of them seemed to have a defect with the LED bulb and wouldn't match any of the other lights shades (white or colors). 3 of the 4 had wifi or connectivity issues with the app and or wifi. I was able to connect all them but when I would go to control them as a group or individually, they would not respond at all or at a different delay than the rest. So overall, I really like them and the controls/features are endless for something you traditionally just turn on/off but would like to see better manufacturing so quantity of defects are minimized. I have had them installed for 3 days and am waiting on the 4 replacement fixtures.

Needed a pairing solution, would better with a wall dimmer

I was initially unable to pair the light to my phone because my router emits a 2.4GHz and 5.0Ghz frequency and I cannot change it to allow my phone to use 2.4GHz. Some phones will allow you to do this. Mine will not. In order to be able to use these lights if your phone cannot be set to 2.4GHz you will have to: 1. put your phone in Airplane Mode 2. Turn on wifi 3. Walk away from your router until the wifi signal is lost 4. Turn back and slowly walk back toward your router. Since the 2.4GHz signal will extend further than the 5GHZ your phone will connect to the 2.4GHz. You can now connect to Globe app. After looking online I see that a lot of people have this problem. The solution should be included in the instructions. It took me hours to find a solution. However, once I did the lights are very nice. The one thing I do not like is that I cannot use a wall dimmer switch. This would be better as I do not always want to use my phone to dim lights.

Awesome!

I have about 70ft of patio, another 50ft to WiFi router all lights work great. Navigating through app is a little challenging but overall is a nice setup. You can set all light to change at same time under group app but only problem is group app works half the time.. if you want to change individual lights you can do that easily. The colors are a little on dimmer side but the whites are super bright as you can see in pics. Overall very happy with fixtures. You can also share all your settings with family members or friends so they don't have to reprogram all the settings in there phone.

Automated Can lights!!

Everything is great about this product but they need to add a fine print if you're installing multiple can lights you need to make sure you turn all the same time to sync and pair. Cause if you don't you will need to remove it and find another area to pair and bring back to original location. Just has a few times it goes offline but works great on the app.

Awesome with tasmota

Tasmota made it awesome. Mine was using the newer firmware which doesn't work with the easy OTA tools. I drilled a small hole in the "can" just above the lens so that I could push it out and then it was the typical serial wire stuff. A fair bit of work for the result but it seems to be the state of things for now.

They're great ONLY WHEN THEY WORK

I've had these lights over a year and I've grown so overly annoyed that I felt compelled to write this review. They are great only when they work. The connectivity issues are extremely annoying! And for some reason when they decide to randomly disconnect they begin to turn on and off until you are able to reconnect them which sometimes takes minutes, hours or even a few days for them to want to connect via the app. WHY IN THE WORLD wouldn't they make them so that when they disconnect the light just stays on in it's default light color? I have no clue. Just imagine you getting home after a long day of work and you turn on your lights and they just begin flickering and now you have to sit down for 30 mins or more trying to connect them. Today I just experienced this and as I am writing this review I still have not been able to connect the lights. In short, I would advise that you stay away from this headache. I will we switching these lights in the coming weeks after I do good research because I would hate to have to deal with anything like this again.

Great purchase - lot of fun

Purchased one light to go in our new bathroom above the toilet. I love how you can adjust the colors via the app. The “white” range of colors of the light is very bright but when you start going into the different colors it gets a little duller in brightness. If I had more than one light the brightness would have increased, as I feel you need several when you want to change the color to purple/green/blue for it to have any significant results. Still a great purchase and the app works fine. Was easy to set up. A few examples in the pics of colors. Would buy more.

Great retrofit lights. especially like that you can change the color. Wish they were a little brighter when using the color options. For the whites it is bright enough. no problems connecting lights to app. would recommend buying if looking for a RGB retrofit led

Do Not Purchase

We bought these as they were rated for out door use and we could change colours through the app. They all drop their wifi connection frequently. By frequently I mean, every time you turn them on they need to be reconnected to the app. You can tell because they become a strobe light if they aren’t connected making them unusable. We bought 7 separately in different boxes. 4 do not work.

Perfect for my spa bathroom!

I am a designer and just completed a bathroom renovation at my home. I wanted to create a spa-like atmosphere. I was searching for a recessed light that not only had white light and varying shades of white from bright to warm but also ones that changed colour and wet rated for the bathroom. Voila! I found these lights. FYI this next bit of information is VERY important when you are considering buying these lights. First off - they are set up through your Wi-Fi. You MUST be able to access a 2.4gz not 5gz setting on your wi-fi or you will go crazy trying to set these up, however, once you do it is really simple. You simply download the Globe Electric app on your phone and follow the prompts. It takes a couple minutes to be up and running. You can even pair it with your Google home for voice activation as well. So.... to getting back to my spa bathroom.... These lights work perfectly. I had 4 of these lights installed...two over the tub, one above the toilet, one above the vanity. What I love the most is that each light can be activated individually. Example... to create a relaxing bath mood...I switch off the toilet and vanity lights and change the two above the tub to a beautiful magenta/purple colour. Now you have a truly relaxing chromotherapy experience. You can also set pre-set scenes. The app allows you to dim, change the rainbow of light colours or the intensity of the white light. So brilliant! I forgot to mention that the actual light is LED = energy saving and the fixture is very very slim profile, making it easy to install in all construction settings.
