Bought this for a bathroom my husband is remodeling.

It looks great! Put LED bulbs and it's on a dimmer. Looks perfect in the small bathroom application, above the vanity.

No instructions and mounting screws WAY too long

Pros: Looks nice once installed Cons: Multiple issues with design, materials, and instructions that made installation way harder than it needed to be for an older electric box setup The fixture itself is attractive once I FINALLY got it installed, and the price was good for what you get aesthetically (~$22 each when I ordered). However, the lack of usable instructions and the incorrectly-sized mounting screws detracted most of the value for me, and this was one of the most irritating light fixture replacement experiences I ever had (and I’ve done close to a dozen around the house). The instructions are literally just a diagram of the fixture with zero steps on actually installing it (besides “turn off the power”) so if you haven’t installed a light before these instructions are totally useless, especially since the fixture mostly comes pre-assembled. Additionally, the mounting screws are WAAYYYY too long to be usable in older electrical boxes, since the mounting screw heads butt up directly against the box frame due to the way the mounting plate has to be installed, so they can’t be adjusted inside the box. It required a trip to Home Depot and a lot of trial-and-error to find screws that would work (M4-20mm machine screws; we also used 1 M4-16mm since one box was a little crooked). The screws it comes with are more than double that length (the shorter bronze screws aren’t the correct thread for the cap screws…and still too long). The last thing for me was that the glass shade screws directly up into the fixture after the bulbs are put in, which means you can’t really see where the screw is at or how far it’s screwed in while you’re screwing it on, and there’s also the risk of accidentally unscrewing the chrome end caps in the process and the whole shade assembly tumbling to the floor while trying to put it on or take it back off to replace bulbs. Needless to say, that made me uncomfortable about the security of the glass shade cover, but they seem to be holding. Overall, I doubt I would have bought these if I knew how much of a hassle they’d end up being to install, but now that they’re up there they look nice. They do require smaller A15 bulbs (as opposed to normal A19 bulbs) with a 60W max, so the lights are on the dim side, but perhaps if I’d bought daylight instead of soft white bulbs that wouldn’t be an issue, and I don’t necessarily fault the fixture for that.

Can’t see the brass on top

The fabric and construction of this lamp is really nice for the price, it is very bright, used 40 watt bulbs, so I will probably buy a dimmer but the only problem I have is you cannot see the brass piece on top which is disappointing, so 4 stars- otherwise really beautiful piece.

Bulbs will stay cool

This fixture is exactly what I wanted. I do not understand why so many light fixtures they sell these days are enclosed because both LED and CFL bulbs tend to overheat and burn out in enclosed fixtures. Because this fixture allows excellent air flow, I plan to use 100-watt equivalent LED or CFL bulbs in rooms that need more light. The fixture can handle 60-watt incandescent bulbs, so any LED or CFL bulb should work fine. Larger bulbs fit just fine in this fixture. The dome is actually bigger than it looks in some of the pictures. I have included a picture of the lamp with both 100-watt equivalent LED and CFL bulbs. The LED bulb is size A21. The much smaller bulb on the floor is a standard 60-watt equivalent LED bulb, and even that bulb is identified on the box as an A19. Installation was more difficult than it should have been. With my electrical outlet boxes, the outlet box screws that hold the mounting strip to the outlet box interfere with the mounting screws that go through the canopy. The mounting strip should be wider to allow more distance between the screw holes. I solved this problem by attaching 2 mounting strips together in an "X" shape. This required cutting a small piece of threaded tubing and using it to screw 2 mounting strips together through the center hole. I attached some other old mounting strips together by drilling holes in them and using short machine screws. If you try this, be sure to leave the hole open in the middle of the mounting strips because the wires need to go through the hole. Another solution that could work is to cut off the heads off the mounting screws.

I was a little nervous because of the price, but was pleasantly surprised with the quality. It arrived fast and in great condition and was very easy to install. It looks very modern and will be easy to clean. Fits standard 60W bulbs. I would definitely recommend.

Worst purchase! Very Disappointed. Waste of Money.

This was so poorly made. The plastic vinyl crinkled and reflects how cheaply made they were. The seems are tacky. You cannot change the lightbulbs without dismantling the entire light. It already has ceiling dust that you can see black crumbs in the light. I can’t even sell these. Very disappointing.
