Works great!

I haven’t owned an electric can opener in years. They were always so clunky and cleaning the blade after every use was just too time consuming. I then switched to a manual opener that cut the lid from the side. It worked great for years and the device never really got residue on it. If it did, a quick rinse under the faucet was all it took. I noticed it was getting more and more difficult for me to use that opener due to hand issues. It was time to go back to automatic. I tried those battery operated units that make their way around the can lid. They were hit and miss. They opened about half of the cans. That was not good enough. That led me to this unit. It’s fully electric and it cuts from the side. I love that the cord can be pushed all the way into the unit. I don’t like to leave small appliances out on the counter so storing them away with dangling cords drives me nuts. I didn’t even need to read any instructions. I placed a can into the slot and locked it in place by pressing down on the top bar. I let go of the can to make sure it stayed in place and it did. As a precaution, I kept my hand very near the can should it fall off. Another press of the top bar starts the action. You DO have to hold the bar down until it gets all the way around the can. I think they make a more expensive model that you do not have to hold down the bar. It runs until it completely opens the can and stops on its own. I grabbed this at a super low price so I couldn’t justify another fifteen bucks to have it fully automated. After trying this out on several cans, all I can say is I should have bought this years ago. I opened two cans that had pull tabs to open. Those lid edges are sharp and using this side cut opener solved that problem. No more sharp edged lids. I tried it on some small cans and a very heavy large can. Every one opened with no problem. I am now one happy camper.

Opening cans the safe way!

I had been using a manual can opener forever, mainly because I thought that no one made an electric opener that opened cans in a safe way. When I saw this beauty, I ordered it right away and I love it. You fit the can under the rim, push down the locking bar, and seconds later your can is safely open with no sharp edges or dirty can opener blade piercing the can and contaminating the food. All can openers should work like this!

Works great

Had considered purchasing a battery operated can opener, but read all the reviews. I am so glad I bought this one instead. It is a great working and looking can opener. Not one complaint. One review said the cord was short- but I do not find that it is. The item arrived as described, shipped in sturdy container and not a problem with the delivery. I have only had one vendor who cheated me with a bait and switch. But not this vendor- this as a very good experience.

You will never go back

I have lived with this can opener for as long as I can remember, resulting in me embarrassedly not knowing how to use a manual can opener once I went to college. After learning how to use a manual can opener and then breaking too many I decided to come back to this gem. My roommates and I all love this product, and so will you, so much so that you will never go back.

Very good, simple to use, opens all size cans.

After buying a cheap can opener on Amazon and being disappointed, I purchased this opener and have been very happy so far. It's sturdily built and has opened all the cans I have attempted so far no matter the size. I was a bit concerned about the fact that it opened the side of the can instead of the top but I have been pleasantly surprised. The fact that it opens the side of the can is what allows it to open any size can easily. Overall, I am very impressed and happy with my purchase.

what a surprise

I ordered the Hamilton Beach can opener as it seemed the best available, delivery was slower than usual I later discovered why as was shipped from USA. On unpacking found a solid machine but was then when surprises started as it had an american plug and after investigation discovered was 110 volts also. I contacted amazon about return and had to be returned to USA and only one way existed. No local collect and covid 19 shielded was not practical so looked for a converter and whilst not cheap the can opener now works a dream, far better than UK items. If you can put up with the hassle and cost go for it you will not regret overall.

Love this can opener so much

I did my research, read the reviews and took a chance on this. My mobility issues with my hands caused great pain when I used my old manual can opener. I was a little concerned with the people posting reviews about can shreds in their food and everywhere when you use it… I wanted to see for myself. I immediately read the instructions and realized that those who reviewed it with metal shred issues hadn’t read the instructions. (I wasn’t surprised tbh. Smh) the instructions clearly state not to let the can go around multiple times or it will cause metal shreds. You are holding down the piece to make it go anyway, pay attention. I have had ZERO can shreds and the tops come off with no problem at all. The only time they stick a little is when the can company went HAM with the glue. The machine is incredibly easy to use and requires no strength to make it work. The large pedal-like lever you use to operate it is wonderful. Requires nearly zero effort. If you have any issues with your fingers at all, you don’t need to use them with the lever as it’s large enough and easy enough to just press down with the palm of your hand. Even with my hand issues, I can use my thumb to press it. It literally takes that little effort/pressure to operate. I’m 100% satisfied. My ONLY complaint is the price, it better last me or the company’s gonna be hearing from me.

Fantastic ands does what it says it does.

But my son it not check where this was made so until it came to my address and I opened it to check it was ok I realized it was USA I looked at power and then I knew he could not use it as it eould need a voltage adaptor and that his family would be so sad they could not use it I bought one for them so they could use it Christmas day. Boys don't check like us women. So please USA check where it is being sent to and avoid a item coming back.
