Great for classroom use
I ordered these for my 2nd graders who are still struggling with addition and subtraction facts up to 20. The mini size make them easy to use at their desks. Well made--would buy again.

Math fun!
I use this to teach math skills like counting, adding, subtracting and counting on from a number. This set is for students to explore with as a learning tool.

Good multi-purpose counter
I picked up a set of these for tracking sets for my weightlifting -- not quite the intended audience but it works great for this purpose! I was going to roll my own and get some beads and slap something together but at this price it was nice to just have something ready out of the box.

Missing bead
One of these in the set was missing a bead (white/red part). I didn't notice until I wrote my name on the side of it, and can't return it. Disappointed as this is essential to the function of the product.

Great Rosary counter!
Due to hand and finger pain, it has become difficult for me to use my beloved rosary during my morning prayers. I discovered this abacus and I love it! I slide the red beads on the top row to indicate which decade I am on and I use all the beads on the bottom row for the Hail Marys. It is also great for the other rosaries and chaplets I say each day. You get four of these in one box. That was a bonus because I thought I was getting only one individual abacus. (Undoubtedly user error in not reading the description thoroughly.) Now I will have extras to put in various houses and vehicles as we move forward with our retirement plans. I HIGHLY recommend this abacus!

Come apart rather easily, which suited my purpose.
I was actually happy to see reviews saying they came apart easily. A quick twist back and forth (what I’d expect a small child to do immediately) and the glued dowels began to break free. Didn’t take much more effort before the beads were falling off the rods. I reglued them all with a bit of super glue, and clamped them for a few minutes and they are rock solid now. I rearranged the beads to make four 119-point two-digit decimal scoring abaci for my game room. See photo.

Multiple uses, sturdy and well built!
Good for kids, explaining numbers and sturdy build that has withstood the wrath of a 2 year old and 4 year old! It is probably not something that will keep their attention on its own but useful for teaching purposes. I am surprised it has lasted this long as it is generally thrown in a large toy bin with other, much bigger toys. What you see is what you get and that is a good thing. I also use it to count sets and reps while exercising, works pretty well for that as well!

Small rekenrek
Small size, but so far very durable. Nice wooden built

Broke after a few uses.
I like the very small size of these; there's no reason they need to be bigger for student use. There are two things I don't like about them though. One is the beads. Because they're not round, they don't take up much space side-to-side. I prefer the round beads. (Other people might prefer these beads.) The other thing I don't like is the think round wooden dowel at the bottom. If I touch it, it bends. It doesn't seem to be very strong. A metal or thicker wooden dowel there would've been better. Having said that, the price is pretty good. I won't buy more though until I see how these hold up after daily use by young children. Edit: After a few uses one of the sides came off entirely and beads fell off. One of the bead rolled away and got lost so it’s garbage now.

Easy to use mini abacus
I liked that these four rekenrek abacus' were small on my teaching shelf. Cute little instruction booklet with great game suggestions for using the counting tool. Students picked up really quickly - especially good if you teach "reset" and "point" before having kids push numbers. Love the opportunity for kids to quickly demonstrate their number sense and explain their thinking!

Extra beads
They seem to have a sturdy build. But on first use, we realized that two of the racks had extra beads. One of my kindergarten students told me there were 6 red beads. I was going to correct him when I saw that he was right. I am hoping I can easily cut/saw off the extra!!

Great size for younger students
I like this size as my Kindergarten students can easily hold and complete math work. The quality is great to. And 4 to a box!
