We stock a wide variety of fasteners ideal for many applications around the home, farm, business, automotive, and in industry. Most of our fasteners have a light zinc plating over steel giving a more rust resistant finish. We also sell coated and stainless products for additional rust resistance. We stock many grades of fasteners ranging from low carbon steel on up to hardened, heat treated steel. Not all fasteners are applicable for all applications so be certain to test thoroughly and get the opinion of a licensed building or certified building or structural engineer before relying on these fasteners for any situations where failure would result in damage to property or person.

Reviewing Coarse Coupling Nuts, 3/8-16, Piece-8. Good clean threads.
This review is for a bag of Coarse Coupling Nuts, 3/8-16, Piece-8. Worked perfectly for me. Good clean threads. Very solid load transfer. I have about 300 pounds hanging from each of these couplings, going from all-thread to an open hook. No problems whatsoever. Only used 5 so far, but all were good.

Usable after re-tapping the threads.
The units received had an issue with the thread quality. They quickly jammed on the bolts, and a quarter-turn with a wrench showed damage to the bolt threads. Re-tapping the nut fixed the issue, but in hindsight any cost savings were lost to the extra time and hassle required for the fix.

Longer than indicated!
I ordered 5/16-18 coupling nuts and they were made well and would work as intended, but note these were 1-3/4" long, NOT 3/4" long as indicated. My project required and would only work with the shorter couplings...so after 30 minutes cutting them down, then another 5 minutes to re-thread the cut end, all's good...now.

Just what the Dr. Ordered.
Seems to be good quality. Looking for something that didn't rust. Time will tell.

Functional but barely, re-tapping recommended
I just got these in and was modelling what I intended to do. I ordered 3/8 in.-16 coarse across the board expecting everything to fit. I grab the bolt and it will not engage the threads. At best I get 1/8 of a turn before it binds up like it is cross threaded. So after confirming everything looks right and my orders are right, I get other 3/8 in.-16 course threaded hardware and it all produces the same result. As a final sanity check I decided to just force it and see what happens. After really wrenching on it with pliers the threads do engage normally. There's consistent grinding and significant resistance. I am getting chips larger than when I tap holes out the open side of the nut. These are a decent deal if you have taps you can run through, otherwise I would watch out.
