Love it!
I love this feeder! We have around 60-70 chickens, ducks, Guinea and turkey in our coop. They can all eat out of this with ease! and we don’t have to fill it up everyday! We did put a little lid under ours because we put it on the ground during the day for our babies and they scratch it out when eating.

Should have a cover.
Didn't think a cover would be important, but it is. The chickens are constantly getting into the top, which is fine other than the only thing chickens do better than eat, is go to the bathroom. So, I had to invent a cover for this to keep them from fertilizing their own food.

Best way to avoid a mess
I was tired of them getting crap in their feed bucket. I bought this and hung it and it's great! Many others are $$$$ this was a great deal. Seems to be lasting well too. I may but one to use for water.

Good AFTER Modifications
I've been using this feeder for 8 months and it has held up fairly well. I clean it with vinegar water and a scrub brush about once a week (every two weeks in the winter) and have only notices some discoloration on the bottom. You must do the modifications others have mentioned to prevent injury to your birds. I put small bolts with washers in each exposed hole before introducing it to my birds and no issues with injuries. I also use an ice cream lid when weather is wet to prevent the food from clumping and it works well. I may purchase the pot lid other reviewers have mentioned. This feeder works better when you hang it. The flow of food is not good if it just sits on some bricks (as I did when the birds were young) and is much better when you hang it. The adjustable feed height is nice, too. Overall, this was a good purchase and I will continue using this feeder. But you must modify it to protect your birds.

excellent value/ quality but it needs a lid
Excellent quality, very sturdy. Wish it had a lid. I chose to hang it in the coop and this helped keep the feed clean. It should far outlast similar plastic feeders.

Mine was mislabeled as a “drinker”
I bought this to replace a plastic feeder that I only had for a few months before the plastic cracked and the handle came off. I have to hang my feeder because the chickens knock it over if it’s on the ground. This galvanized steel feeder was only a few dollars more than the smaller plastic one I had. I wish I had seen this one first, but the feed store where I bought the other one wanted like 30 bucks or more for a galvanized feeder. I also saved a few dollars extra on this one by getting an open-box return from Amazon Warehouse. The label on this one says it’s a drinker, not a feeder, which is probably why someone sent it back. It was obviously mislabeled because it couldn’t function as a drinker because water would run out of the adjustment holes in the sides! My only complaint with this feeder, and the reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5, is the lack of a lid. I use an aluminum pie pan and place a couple of rocks on top to keep it in place. It’s a very solidly made feeder that should last for many years.

it's great
I was not expecting my birds to freak out when I brought this into the coop. WOW! It didn't take long for them to realize it was safe and they were chowing down. There is less food waste and the food stays clean because they are not filling it with dirt as they scratch. I raised it up about 6 inches off the ground and that is the perfect height for them.

Could be better
All pictures indicate that this feeder comes with a handle but mine arrived without one. Could be made better by including a lid but I took another reviewer's advice and ordered an 8" glass one for a pot. Hopefully it fits when it arrives. I'm not sure if it's possible to have a handle sent to me but I'd rather that than rigging something up. Honestly, there are probably better options out there to be purchased.

Still in use
I have hung it so it hangs at feeding height. I’m happy with the quality.

Chicken waterer
Really like the large size. Would have been nice if it came with a lid, though. Not worth the price I paid. Rusted inside very quickly.

Sturdy Product
These have been hanging in our coop for a couple of months. The feed is dropping just fine. We fill them up and haven’t had any weight issues. We have one that hangs lower than the other for the chicks and the adult chickens.

Perfect and sturdy
Perfect. I have 6 chickens and it’s the right size. Durable. I would buy again.
