Granddaughter loves
My granddaughter said she wanted a violin for Christmas. I looked through all the options and reviews and decided on this violin. She is six and it is perfect for her to play.

Cute but poorly made
This broke the second we got it out. The strings popped right off and are a pain to put on. It is a super cute toy, but will break

Bought this for my 2 1/2 year old daughter and she loves it so much. It plays a nice variety of songs and has a few settings to be able to play a few different ways. For the money, it's really an awesome little toy. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because upon looking up the product, it has carcinogenic materials in it. I guess what can you expect for less than $8 and it's not like it's going in her mouth, but I wish this was not the case. Also the setting that giggles is pretty creepy. Otherwise, great toy, seems durable and is getting a lot of use already.

Doesn't play violin music which is weird
Update: broke in under 2 days. Strings came completely off. The good: It has the right number of strings and color, the toy bow is sturdy, my toddler likes it, and it's usually a sufficient distraction to keep his hands off his sister's (real) violin. The bad: buttons aren't labeled which is unhelpful when he wants a specific thing. There's no volume control. Lights are annoying and cannot be switched off. The just plain weird: they had infinite options of what to put on these recordings. The recordings to make a kid think they're playing music on a toy violin. They did not choose any violin recordings or even electronic/synth mockups that sound somewhat like a violin. Instead they included piano, a drum solo (???), a synth oboe, synth harpsichord, plain electronic tones and most baffling of all, a voice yelling and a baby laughing. I'm so confused. Of course by the time we figured this out the toddler is enamored of it and it will now live in our house for at least 3 years. Take heed and use this information as you see fit.
