UPDATE BELOW" Great except it will not hold the bag without seeing the bag when cover is closed
Update 4/13/23: Kept this and just use with bag showing without modification so far. We like the unit but would still like to see the suggestions below changed for a 5 star product for us. Mechanism still going strong, like the lid stays up and just a couple inches of back clearance when open Cleans up easily and getting the job done. the small one is next to our Theater room recliners and is very useful for it's size. What good is a stylish stainless steel garbage can if you have to wrap the bag around the liner lip and is seen when lid is closed like in step 3 in description? If you wish to have the bag not seen the lip does not hold the several drawstring Glad bags well that we tried at all on ours, pain in the B to get the bag to hold without the bag being seen and still the bag slips. If the inner lip had a P lip it wold hold a bag and it would be hidden like the main page picture shows, no bag seen. Or just have the black trim piece on the top edge and have the inner plastic liner separate and lift out independently. Are we the only ones who do not want the bag seen? I should have paid closer attention to the description/ pictures. Or find black garbage bags? Otherwise for us this would be a 5 star can. The clever lifting mechanism allows for the lid to stay open or closed. We leave it open unless we have guests. That is a huge selling point for us. The foot pedal is tall/off the ground higher than most and takes a firm step to activate, not a problem for most adults. The finish looks great but only time will tell of it's lasting quality. The material is thin but needs to be on the lid for a lighter easier lift. We were looking for a model with just an inner lid for zero back clearance that raised and not an entire cap/cover that has to have more clearance from wall, but the size and shape of the can fit perfect for our needs. I would also have liked for the product description to have that the bottom is open and not solid. Easier for spiders and bugs to get in if you have bug problems like many climates/areas do. The smaller unit we are still thinking where to put it. Shipping packaging was impeccable on my unit, double boxed and extra thick boxes. Trying to decide if I want to return or modify. Dremel the corners to make a slot for the bag string to hold or keep using an XL rubber band for the bag to hold onto. I also have commercial door bumpers I could cut down/drill a hole and put on the corners that would hold well also. Or 3M 1/4" trim tape or weather stripping on the rim/corners.......

Looks nice
Replaced our trash can. It fits the space we need it to fit and looks good. The scented trash bags that come with it smell gross to me, but that’s not a big deal. It has some holes to tuck the bag in, but these work less well at hiding the bag than I’ve experienced with other trash cans, so sometimes the bag peeks out of the lid. Not a dealbreaker

Perfect
Recommend this trash can. Securely holds the bag in and is easy to empty. Nice sleek design. Purchased hoping it would be a dog-secure can and am disappointed to say it is not. But as my puppy is an intelligent, 125lb Newfoundland, this is definitely not the fault of this particular trash can

Great addition to our kitchen
We had a tight spot to put a kitchen trash can & I didn’t want a motion sensor for opening trash cans as I know I will forget to switch out the batteries. This one worked out perfectly. The only problem I have was that it was hard to find a perfect sized trash bag. I read a lot of reviews about regular 13 gallon tall kitchen trash bags won’t fit. used the dimension on the trash bag that came with the trash can and found out that Costco 18 gallon compactor & kitchen trash bag fit perfectly and is cheaper than the compactor bags from Amazon.

Looks good!
We got these to keep the dogs out of the trash…& then the dogs started stepping on them to open them up. Wish it had a locked option but they look great. Also if you don’t place the inner bin just so it won’t close properly-this can be a pain!

Black can look brown
Bought this for the shape, the way it opened and color. Wanted something that would blend in with our cabinets. Was happy to see the black color can look more brown/bronze. This is a cheaper version than the SimpleHuman brand. Not as smooth when opening and closing comparatively speaking. And yes, the bag can stick out even with extra careful placement. But for me, the color was the reason I bought it.
