Truly waterproof outdoor cover.

I needed several of these to cover 2 of my outdoor exposed outlets. The previously installed covers failed to prevent water entry which after each rain storm caused the CFI to trip. I had one of these installed years ago. It worked. So when I found these on Amazon, I purchased 3 more (1 as a spare). Since I had an uneven brick surface to mount them to, I used some caulking to ensure that the foam gasket sealed out water. The do work, when properly installed. (Use caulking where needed to ensure a proper seal.)

Great for long-term 'in-use' power cord connection applications.

Great cover for in use application. Works well for single heavy gauge extension cord but not sure how well it would work for 2 cords of heavy gauge. Cover has a durable accordion gasket that allows it to expand to accommodate the cord coming out the back of the male plug and to exit out of a slot in the lower corner of the cover. The cover will snap back into place when not needed, so you don't see the accordion gasket. The overall cover snaps and locks into place but can be easily opened to allow access to plug the cord(s) in. However, I found that with a large or heavy gauge cord, that the cover may not fully lock back into place or may sit a little 'cock-eyed' when it is snapped into place due to the cord passing through the slot in the corner, or pushing out on the accordion cover. This cover is a nice option to use instead of the big, ugly, clear plastic 'bubble' in-use covers that are more likely to get broken from bumps by yard equipment, etc.. Overall looks to be a good quality cover for an 'in-use' application such as a cord going to a landscape lighting power supply or a fountain pump (ie. something that will be plugged in and left for a long time), but if you just need a cover to keep water out of the receptacle and allow quick and easy power connection, then there are other covers that I think may work better....

East to install but needs larger gasket

This was super easy to install. But, the gasket that makes it waterproof is t deep enough for brick grout. But, I made it work with some foam.

Nice Idea..Could be Improved on for Multiple Cord Utlility

Not the easiest to install in overhead applications..and a little tricky to get the mounting screws to match when sliding over the outlet screws. As others have mentioned, can really only use one cord while in use..the “port” where the cord(s) exit from receptacle is just not that large. The gasket does expand a decent amount and appears to be keeping water out while in use.

Well built, looks good

I really like the idea and design of this. They might be made too well as the expanding gasket material is pretty tough to manually pull out to accommodate a plug; not really a problem, just annoying. The orientation matters as the cord can only exit one corner of the cover so pay attention during install. It looks great when collapsed and was simple to install.

Awesome design.

These are a no-brainer for anyone not doing new construction. If you're doing new construction and can fit recessed boxes then those are really great but if you have a flush box then this is the best option for most people because it is low profile most of the time but is code compliant to leave items plugged-in when you need to (like holiday decorations, etc.) Great job folks!

Nice compact outlet weather cover

This cover was good quality and worked better than I expected. I was able to close the cover with a cord plugged in, although it has to have a relatively small plug. Extension cords that have larger plugs won't fit under this cover with it closed. The bellows does squeeze larger plugs and can bend the cord abruptly, but that's no different than other weather covers. The cover looks nice and it's compact which is perfect. I've only had it a few months so I don't know how it will hold up with time, but the materials seemed durable while I was installing it. I probably would't use this on an outdoor outlet I use daily, but I plan to buy a few more for my other outdoor outlets, which I only use once every few weeks or months.

The low profile solves my problems... Great buy.

I've tryed other outlet covers that often get damaged when not in use because of their high profile. This unit is definitely low profile when not in use and it's easy to install. The other units turn yellow with exposure to UV rays and that's not cool. I haven't had this item for long but time will tell. I recommend this product for now.

Good design but not great.

Installation hole locations are a bit strange considering how normal plates work. Wire exit location can really only handle one cord of decent gauge.
