The best rollator around!
I've had a couple of different rollators, the last a folding one by iDrive, and these just don't fit me properly. I saw this unit and could hardly wait for my FSA account to fund again at the beginning of the year. I purchased this on January 2nd using my Prime membership and it arrived today, two days later. It is awesome! I watched all the videos on the Hugo website, while waiting for the unit to arrive and was confident I could assemble the unit without an issue. The instructions were straight forward and spot on. Being short, barely 5 foot but with long legs and a short torso, other rollators just didn't fit me properly and were more bother than they were worth. I actually was getting lazy and taking my wonderful ultralight wheelchair everywhere, so I could move about with confidence. Not anymore! I have used this unit less than a day and already have more confidence and am regaining my mobility. I was diagnosed with MS 12 years ago and have slowly seen it progressively attack my walking and balance. The Sidekick is amazing, as I can now walk with confidence again, even across uneven surfaces, like grass. Because the handle height adjusts and not the legs, like most other rollators, this unit fits me perfectly! A huge bonus is the seat height, approximately 18 inches, like a normal chair, so even this fit me perfectly, without dangling legs that will fall asleep. I have a Think King Soft Buggy Cup, from my previous rollator, and was able to easily attach it to the side of the Sidekick without interfering with the folding and unfolding ability of this unit. I purchased the blue unit, which is going to be my best friend and pal and I named my new Sidekick Neela. This is a Hindi girl's name, which means blue. Look for Neela and I walking about town.

Hugo Mobility Sidekick Side-Folding Rollator
I love this walker. The wider frame along with the larger diameter front wheels and the slightly heavier weight all combine to result in a noticeably more substantial feel under you. The larger wheels present a slight problem in very compact spaces which require a tight turning radius but I don't run into that situation often. But the larger wheels do provide a smoother roll generally and, I find, roll over minor bumps or cords much easier than your average walker. The large wheels also add to the overall stability of the walker. The 360 degree "axles" give the wheels more flexibility and function as well. Brakes work okay and are your standard hand brakes. I like the side folding design and find it easier to fold up and easier to put in a vehicle. Now, the negatives. Hugo customer service was excellent and very responsive.(Obviously, not a negative!) However, even after receiving a replacement backrest after the first one would not fit on the handlebars/screws, it took several difficult tries to finally get the new backrest to be screwed onto the frame via the tightening knob. Well, in 2 months, the backrest has worked its way loose 3 times despite being affixed tightly to the frame initially. I finally just took the backrest off. It works okay without it. I also wish it came with a hard plastic tray to snap on the seat to carry non basket friendly items (such as food & drink) from room to room. All and all though, I love my walker and would buy again.

So glad I ordered this
Wow! So glad I ordered this! Quick and easy to assemble, and the delivery driver even offered to bring it inside. Very thoughtful due to the nature of the item. First off, I am relatively young and healthy with the exception of a recent injury. I destroyed the lateral meniscus in my left knee, and cannot put any weight at all on that leg while I am awaiting surgery. This walker is so comfy to sit in, and is making getting around the house so much easier and less painful. Just got it and haven't used it outside yet, but am looking forward to it. Please understand that this review is from the perspective of someone who plans to use this temporarily, maybe for two or three weeks at the most. That being said, I firmly believe it is worth every penny for the comfort and convenience. The last thing I need now is to add to my injury and let's just say I'm not exactly a whiz on crutches. I love sitting in it and scooting around the kitchen and family room as well as using it upright. The brakes work well and are easy to operate. The whole thing took me and my teenager around ten minutes to assemble. I ordered the discounted "open box" unit and while the box wasn't pretty and it was clearly repackaged, the walker itself was complete and seemed brand new. Very pleased! Btw I am petite and small-framed and it fits perfectly on its most compact setting. Feeling very grateful right now!

excellent but heavy
I have had this for a few weeks. I got it after passing out during walks due to chronic fatique issues. What most appealed to me was that it has a seat, unlike regular walkers. So I can sit down and rest anytime and as soon as I start feeling tired. Unfortunately, my apartment complex does not have elevators, which presents a problem. I can fold it then body it into a car, but carrying it up or down stairs is next to impossible for me due to atrophied arm muscles. I have been looking for some sort of shoulder strap which would allow me to navigate stairs with it on my back just as I have no problem carrying a backpack full of groceries strapped to my back. This is NOT a wheelchair! I suspect the reviews claiming it only lasts a month are from people who think, because it has a seat, they can use it as a wheelchair. If you do, yeah, it will last about a month. EDIT: 8/26/15 Sad to say, after two months, this fell apart. I did not use it as a wheelchair, usually just walking in the breezeway in front of apt for exercise. The problem appears to be due to screws slowly coming loose. In my case, one fell off and I did not realize it until irreparable damage had been done while sitting in it. Fortunately, I have a backup, an Invacare model with fewer parts. That seems to be key. More expensive rollerators like this Hugo have multiple parts, requiring assembly, meaning multiple parts which will eventually come loose. My folding Invacare is lighter, came assembled, has a seat, but no basket.
