Who knows?
Other than the price, how the heck do you review a water filter? How do I know if this filter is really filtering out particles and harmful elements as small as 5 Micron as claimed by the manufacturer? The reality is that we don't know and only take the words of the manufacturer.

How do you know it’s working?
A common application for a carbon filter is Chlorine reduction, you can test this by using a simple chlorine test kit from the hardware store. If it can effectively reduce chlorine then it’s working and means it will adsorb other possible contaminates from the water.

Makes city water taste better
Works as intended. I am on city water which has a chemical taste without this filter. I have this filtering the kitchen sink as well as inline to the fridge so I would not have to buy the fridge filter which is twice the price. It does not include the instructions so be sure to place the holes to the top of canaster.

Can't complain for what I paid for
Replaced old 6 months AquaCrest filter for this Hydronix brand and water taste great again! One observation is that the Hydronix flat Top and Bottom o-ring rubber gasket are a little bit thicker and that's really great because compared to the old AquaCrest filter the rubber flat o-rings always failed when the water temperature goes below 78°F (26c) the gasket shrinks and water taste bad even when the filter was brand new. Will give update in the future!
