2023, 0422 Update: We still give this raised toilet seat 5 out of 5 stars. In regards to urinating out the front, Mom came up with an idea that might work for some people. She had me test and it worked for me. She asked me to put her idea in an update, as it might help some people. We got a piece of toilet tissue approximately 8 squares, folded the length in half twice, then folded the width twice. With the raised seat up, I placed that folded tissue on the toilet’s front rim (with tissue fold to the inside) and closed the raised lid. After, the tissue is wet, so can push that into the toilet with a clean tissue and then flush. For me, when folding the tissue, I tore off the two length ends, so it was 4 pieces (folded width-wise made 8 layers), in hopes of helping to reduce clumping. Some people might need more or less layers. It’s not a perfect method, but might help some, too. Take care :) == (Original review) Elongated. Color: White Hi :) My parents are elderly (mom is 90yrs old and dad is 87yrs old); both have difficulties lifting their legs and mom is recovering from a spine injury. Her Physical Therapist suggested we get a raised toilet seat. So, we got this item. Mom gives this toilet seat 5 out of 5 stars. She says although it doesn’t fit perfectly on our American Standard toilet, that is fine because we didn’t expect it to (being a different brand). She likes this raised toilet seat a lot and says it works well for her; she has less pain vs. sitting on a normal toilet seat height. Dad gives, 5 out of 5 stars and says it is comfortable. He said that so far, he has no issues with shooting out the front. But, he is being careful, too. He said thanks to the reviewers for that warning. Thanks for reading :)

This was so nice for post-op, I decided to keep it installed. I got used to those extra 3 inches of height and this looks like part of the toilet with its fit and lid. It was very easy to install from the top of the bowl, and took about 5 minutes with a Phillips head screwdriver. It is important to adjust the screws as you tighten them to get the seat centered but this is easy to do. I have it installed on an American Standard oval. The only suggestion I would make in design improvement would be to enclose the back. It is open, and since surgical recovery can involve some splashing, I mitigated this by placing a folded wash rag on the toilet behind the opening. The seat is extremely easy to clean- it lifts right off by pressing a button, and it is very light. I'm getting one for the guest bath- my guests aren't getting any younger, either and a little comfort goes a long way.

Good idea but not all I was hoping for. After hip surgery I needed the seat raised. The round shape leaves the opening too small for a man to use without risking making a mess. The elongated seat would have been a better choice if my toilet were that shape. Not the most comfortable seat but then I was very sore after the surgery. Pros: Simple, quick instalation. Love the ability to remove it easily for thorough cleaning. Love the slow closure feature. Seems like it's well constructed.

A bit high priced for a toilet seat, but so much cheaper than a new raised toilet ~ quicker and easier to install. Absolutely perfect and far superior to those 'Handi-cap' toilet seats.

I have knee problems and normal toilet seats are too low. I purchased this seat because it raises my toilet 3 inches making it easy to get up. Is well made and simple to install and a bonus is it has a slow closing seat cover!

This was just what we needed to create a deeper bowl without having to change out the toilet in our travel trailer / RV. It fit perfectly and has greatly improved the issue of the toilet bowl being too shallow.

This is a very nice product from Kohler. It looks sleek for what it is, not the ones from the past. I am in my 40s but like this nice chair height seat in my bathroom. Much better option than going through the trouble of purchasing a chair height toilet and having to install that. This was very easy to put on my current toilet and was a cost effective option that looks nice in my bathroom.
