SPECIFICATIONS: The package includes [1] multipurpose tool with an insulated terminal die set. This tool is designed for heavy-duty general purpose crimping, and is not intended for mil-spec or applications requiring calibration. COMPATIBILITY: The included die (30-579) set is compatible with vinyl insulated ring, spade, fork and other similar terminals. Red cavity crimps 22-18 AWG terminals, Blue cavity crimps 16-14 AWG terminals, Yellow cavity crimps 12-10 AWG terminals. DESIGN: The Crimpmaster frame can be used with over 10 different die sets that are sold separately. These die sets can crimp terminals, coax connectors, and modular plugs making the Crimpmaster a versatile multi-purpose crimping tool. CONSTRUCTION: This crimp tool features a thick-walled frame made of fine blanked high carbon steel, with a black oxide coating. Large contoured, rounded edge handles provide comfort and leverage during the crimping process. RATCHETING CRIMP TOOL: This Crimpmaster Tool includes one removable die set to crimp insulated terminals for 22- 10 AWG wires. The ratchet mechanism ensures a full crimp cycle has been completed before releasing the connector from the die.

Works without much applied force from one's hand.
I like that there are other crimp die sets that can be used with the frame.

Dies are good, quality is good, handles are horribly uncomfortable!
Ideal is a great manufacturer of tools and equipment that I do use professionally on a regular basis, especially their Strip Masters. However, these crimpers in my opinion are not up to par. Dies are nice, action is smooth, but the handles are way too thick and a bit too short, making them hard to squeeze together. I bought an old pair of T&B ERG-2001's for about the same price. They have a much better comfort level and ease of follow through on crimps, especially on 10-12 size wire.

Works well but sometimes when I am crimping a yellow term the handle grip starts to slide off. It is kind of annoying.
