Beautiful mortal/pestle-well made- excellent size for pill crushing!
Love this granite mortal and pestle. Most were around 5 lbs and for meds I needed something smaller. This one is perfect at about 2 lbs. It does a great job crushing the pills. It is beautiful and well made. Very happy with this and will definitely be referring others to this item.

Perfect for grinding herbs
I make teas and herbal medicines, and this was perfect for what I need. It’s small, I usually make a tea bag at a time with it. But it’s heavy, great quality, and does a great job grinding and smashing herbs.

Terrific little mortar and pestle
Just the right size to grind a few of the homegrown dried hot peppers at a time into flakes so that they’re always fresh when I use them, rather than grinding a whole bunch at a time to fill a shaker.

Review from an amateur
I bought this for grinding spices, and it works pretty well to grind, but is a little tougher to clean. It's easy to clean most out, but there may be a hint left. That's not really a problem until you also start using it to crush pills, which is one of its listed uses. If I were thinking about pills, I think I'd get a porcelain one. I think I should have gotten a larger one for spices, but that's really on me -- I'm a newbie on mortars and pestles. Unless they start selling "Cherry Avocados" there is no way you'll be making guac in one of these! :) Thanks for reading!
