Perfect for lighter automotive jobs
I bought this to help me out with a timing chain replacement on a Jeep TJ. I have it hooked up to a Porter Cable 3.5 gallon 135 PSI pancake compressor dialed down to 90 PSI (which apparently delivers 2 SCFM). For removing and replacing the bolts for the fan shroud, radiator, idler pulley, water pump pulley, tensioner pulley, timing chain cover and camshaft sprocket it worked like a total champ. It was very, very convenient in the tighter spaces where rotating a ratchet would have been problematic. This isn't an impact wrench, so I didn't expect it to remove the more heavily torqued bolts. So no luck with the crankshaft / vibration damper pulley bolt. It also didn't have the torque to turn the crankshaft when I was trying to align the timing sprockets for removal. But I didn't expect it to perform either of these functions. Build quality is quite good. It's solid and hefty with a rubberized grip. Manipulation of the trigger is easy and intuitive. For anyone wondering, it does not come with an air hose coupler fitting. In its place is a plastic housing that contains the an anti-theft strip. I had to remove (read: break off) the back of that plastic housing, where I found a plastic bolt that I unscrewed to reveal the interface where the coupler would be screwed in. From time to time, I popped off the air hose, put in a couple of drops of air tool oil, and replaced the hose. Before storing it, I also put in a couple of drops of oil and hit the trigger it to circulate. Overall, this driver was darn handy. I'd have cursed a lot more and needed more time for the job if I didn't have it.

Great everyday tool
IR has always been quality and still is. The price is fair for an everyday air tool

Top quality
I purchased two ratchets, a 1/4” and 3/8” drive to replace some harbor freight ratchets that my kids bought me for Christmas. Needless to say the harbor freight tools didn’t last. First off there is a big difference in build quality. These tools look professional. The pneumatic drive is much smoother and both ratchets have more torque than what I was previously using. I have a side business working on cars and both ratchets get used a lot. So far no issues and I expect that I will have them for a long time

Not great not terrible.
Had to get some loctite to keep the body from unthreading after every fastener was removed, since then pretty solid ratchet.

GREAT AIR RATCHET
I've only used once so far, for a job I needed to do. Performed well as expected. I expect to get more use out of this air ratchet in the future. I purchased this for home use, I had previously purchase and used a much cheaper ratchet that didn't last as long as I had anticipated. So, as the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for" is very true. Ingersoll Rand has a good reputation for their air tools so I feel the money is well spent. With air tools it is very important to oil them prior to each use and they should last you a good while is what I expect with this one.

It’s an air ratchet
It’s an air ratchet- nothing more, nothing less. Great for the times you want to manually ratchet bolts in/out. Only complaint is that it is loud- so either use ear protection or ( as some other reviews have said) block the discharge vents. Honestly, I’ll use the ear protection.

it does work
I liked the speed at which it tightens and how much torque it can put out. However, I don't like that you can't really adjust throttle speed. And this is more of something you wouldn't notice unless you use it a lot, but often times, the ratchet wants to rotate the ratchet handle once it gets to a certain torque. But there is little to no advance warning of that, and it can often just jerk your hand into a hard metal object (if you're working on say a car). And sometimes its hard to release the operating handle/trigger when you're preparing for such an instance. It's a smaller complaint, but I run into this issue more often than i'd like to. Overall though, it gets the job done

Not as powerful as I had hoped
I bought this air ratchet because I needed to replace a starter motor that was (as usual) in a very tight spot where there wasn't enough room to swing a ratchet. Instead of paying $400+ to have a garage replace it I decided to buy a tool to help me do the job and save some money. Unfortunately this ratchet did not have enough torque to break the bolts loose. I was thinking about buying the Aircat 805-HT High Torque 3/8" Air Ratchet but didn't really want to spend $160. In the end I would have rather spent the $160 instead of having a tool that doesn't do the job. It will be okay for lighter jobs though.

Ingersoll Rand quality at.a budget price!
Works beautiful as you’d expect. I ordered two other “brand” air ratchets and both were defective. This one works flawlessly and was in the same price range. A trigger lock would be nice since it’s very easy to accidentally start but I can live with that. When you hold it in your hand you can feel IR knows how to make air tools.

Didn't last long
I used it for tapping holes at work but it jumps/stutters and breaks the tap after only a few months of use. Definitely something is wrong with the ratcheting but it's too late to return. I'll be buying something else that will hopefully last longer.

Great tool at a good price.
I’ve always had a Ingersoll Rand 3/8 ratchet. My go to everyday tool. Wouldn’t be caught without one. Great air tool brand. All my air tools are Ingersoll Rand. This air ratchet is the economic ratchet but works very well.
