Great for trails, less great for road.
GOOD STUFF: I was hoping for a rugged running shoe that could handle road and trail. The grips on the bottom of the shoe do not disappoint. There's no slip when sidewalk/road running, and trail running is a breeze. I even took these on the beach, and found that they did not lose integrity when they got slightly wet. The fit is as expected - I bought size 8 and consider it to be a true 8. BAD STUFF: These are very stiff. I had hoped for more cushion because I'm a neutral to under pronator runner and some extra cushion is appreciated. These are OK, but I definitely feel the impact from the road. I'll keep running in the them until its time for new shoes, then look for something else. Previously I've used Mizuno, Asics and Brooks shoes. I REALLY liked Inov8's F-lite 235 V2 for lifting, so I wanted to try their running shoe out. If you are a runner who likes stability with their cushioning, then these shoes might be perfect for you. I just prefer a touch more cushion in the heel. ME: 5'2" female, 165lbs, 7:56-8:10 mile in my old shoes, 8:20-8:40 mile in these shoes.

Great shoe
I bought these for running. I needed a shoe with a wide toe box, but not a wide shoe. These are perfect, they fit much line the new balance minimus as far as the foot shape. They aren't heavy or clunky, very breathable. I have also worn them walking and working, they are quite durable. I had a pair of Nike tr free and they made the ball of my foot hurt, and I could feel it in my knees and back. But these are super comfy and supportive, just enough arch support without feeling crowded. I think I might buy this brand in a cross trainer too. This was my first experience with this brand after many NB shoes, but these seem to last a bit longer.

Good - tighter upper than my other Inov-8
Thanks to the other reviewers I ordered a size 9 (I wear an 8 in Newtons and 8.5 in Altras). The toe box is roomy and the heel is secure. I originally said the insole was not removable, but I was wrong - it was just in there very tight. A minor drawback is a stiff piece which goes over the top of where the laces begin. Eventually it stretched out. I have very finicky feet so this may not bother other runners. Overall the Roadclaw, although not over-cushioned, feels very springy and flexible and my toes can splay. That is exactly what I was looking for.

They do not fit me correctly
These shoes still hurt my feft foot. I wanted to return them, but my husband said no, give them time. I should have went with my first gut instinct. That being said, it is not the shoes fault. They just don't fit me correctly. I guess I have a "bunion" on my left foot, so I have troubles with shoes.

Go up a half size
I wear an 8.5 in lifting shoes from inov-8 but these were originally too tight around the back of the foot. Super easy return via my local UPS store and only 2 days to get another pair in size 9. Perfect fit! Can't wait to go for a run :)

too small
had to return, they were too small. the color was as expected, but can't comment on anything else. BEWARE--these were PRIME shipping, but NOT returns when I bought, so I had to pay to return.

Not true to size order half size up.
Toe box too small. Over all shoe not true to sizing. Normal size ordered in this brand over time was too small. Trying to return or exchange.

Comfortable from the start... grip pavement more than usual trainers
inov-8 Women's 000068-blnybe Running Shoe: Inov8 Road Claw 275 Trainers - omen's standard fit - blue, navy and berry. We bought these for our daughter's birthday at her request. It's taken me a while to get a review out of her, so she's been using them for a number of months and is very happy with them. If it was possible to give half stars, she'd have given 4.5 rating. Here are her direct comments: "My first inov8 trainers and happy with them so far. They have been comfortable from the start. You can feel them grip the pavement more than my usual trainers do. I normally get wide-fit normal shoes but these standard fit trainers were fine. Love the colour - nice and funky and bright. My feet seem to get quite hot in them but this could very well be down to my socks as much as anything."

typical inov8 shoes... BRILLIANT!
I based my size on my inov8 trail shoes - they're a 5 and on one foot my toe was touching the end, so although they 'fit' I went up half a size for these. My non-trainer shoes I usually wear a 5 (eu38). I love these. I was a little worried as I pronate (as does most of the population) and have multiple joint issues (ankles and hips more than knees) As inov8s are recommended for neutral runners, but I haven't had any problems running so far in these (though so far just on a treadmill as I didn't want to be out and about with blisters) - I've done about 10km in them so far this week.

I'm used to running in New Balance minimus trainers and these are a good half way option between those and super cushioned trainers
Runs slightly smaller than the size on the box...I'm between a 7.5 and an 8 ordered the 8 and they are snug. One road running session completed and they're comfy. I'm used to running in New Balance minimus trainers and these are a good half way option between those and super cushioned trainers. Thumbs up!
