The ideal solution for emptying marine holding tanks when not in a discharge restricted area. It is recommended that holding tanks be flushed with several gallons of water after each pump out. This will reduce the possibility of a continued build up of sediment in the tank which could cause a potential blockage. FISH BOX AND LIVEWELL TANK EVACUATIONThe Jabsco Macerator Pump is the ideal pump for the emptying of fish box and livewell receptacles. Very often the livewell tank will be above the waterline of the boat, when this is the case gravity can be used to empty the livewell tank. If not installed in this format then it is beneficial to use the Jabsco macerator pump for evacuation due to its self-priming capabilities and also it's grinding properties. Fish boxes are typically mounted into the floor of the vessel and are very often below the waterline or only partially above the waterline. Again the Jabsco Macerator pump has the characteristics that lend themselves to this application. The bait residue particles of ice, fish scales and anything else that could potentially be found in the Fish-Box will be easily passed buy the Jabsco Macerator Pump, and the self priming capabilities are perfect for fish box installations common to many of today's sports fishing boats. Works great..

The media could not be loaded. I bought this to replace the other model that you can’t get parts for. This macerator (I just installed it) is working great. Appears to pump pretty quickly and primes itself almost immediately.

I was a little disappointed in the fact that when I applied power to the pump , the pump did not come on. I realize that on occasion , electric motors will need assistance in starting, but not in the application where you replace your holding tank pump with the hoses full of waste it becomes a little crappy if you know what I mean. Removed the rubber plug at the back of the motor and using a Large common screw driver I managed to get the motor to free up. Applied power and this time the motor came on. Reinstalled pump to the holding tank system and was able to pump my tank out. All good now. Appears to be a good product. Just a bump in the road.

perfect replacement for older pump in Bayliner Boats

Same size inlet and outlet as the old pump. Base screw pattern is the same. Ran water through it from the holding tank and works perfectly.

Far exceeded my expectations.

I've used this pump combo for about three weeks now. It actually churns quick enough that I have to turn it off and on a couple times while the fifth wheel black and gray tanks finish draining. I did have to rig a 3" NPT fitting to it as well as plastic weld a clear 45* bend to the fitting to attach the drain hoses to. It also didn't come with threaded fittings for the out line, but that was my oversight. Custom made jumper cables with 12 gauge cable to spade connectors between the truck battery and pump kick it on and off. With that being said a full 40~ gallon tank is empty in 1-2 minutes not counting flushing. I use it on both gray tanks as well after black into a 300 gallon drum in the bed of my truck with a gates valve, fire hose attachment and hose. Once 3/4 full I take it to a nearby gas station and dump for free. After every use I pour 5w-30 engine oil through it, about a cup worth to keep water from sitting in it.

Much better pump and very heavy duty. Can purchase a rebuild kit.

Automatically slows down

If this pump starts to warm up it slows down to the point it doesn't work.

Priming it is the trick

I used this to pump out my holding tank on my boat at the end of the season. I had to configure an interface using some common plumbing fittings to connect it to the threaded outlet in my boat. I connected a cheap garden hose to the outlet on the pump and connected the leads to a portable power station, 12v. So after connecting to power I could hear the pump running, but not piping anything...argh. So I disconnected the garden hose and fed a little water into the outlet hoping to prime it. BOOM... Worked like a charm and emptied my holding tank in about 1 minute. I am very happy with this and especially the price point.

works like it should

used a Jabsco for 20 years .. needed to replace it .. went to the cheaper, not jabsco, one sold on Amazon.. strongly suggest you don't waste your money or time ..the cheaper unit would not prime even with a short 1 foot lift ..I return it and bought the Jabsco again .. self priming and run dry features .. it is by far a better quality product..

Probably should have purchased the repair kit for my old one (the exact same model), but needed it fixed / replaced right away to get away for my vacation. That said, this is the very same unit I had on my boat that leaked, so I purchased the new one. Works fine (after two weeks on the water testing it).
