Like a good friend, this nonstick stir fry pan wants to make life easier for you. Its slick Xylan coating shrugs off burnt food and stuck gunk with ease. This means you can skip the preliminary puddles of oil and butter to make meals healthier. This also means that it’s a champ when it comes to cleanup time so you have more time after dinner for me-time. It’s flexible too, doing just as well with stir fry as with pancakes or scrambled eggs. Underneath the coating, this pan is carbon steel, a stronger and lighter alternative to cast iron and known to handle heat with no hot spots.

Ok if bought knowing it's a throw away after a couple months use
Worked fine for the first few times but then the coating started coming off/ food sticking badly, even with carful cleaning and careful storage of pan

Nonstick coating flakes off after the second use
After the second use, I noticed that the non-stick coating on the inside surface of the pan had started to flake off in several spots. Even for a cheap pan, this should not happen. I have since used an angle grinder to remove the coating, and have seasoned it properly.

Great for gas stove-- But just OK for electric stoves
Because the wok was designed hundreds of years ago for stoves with flames, this small wok is great for use on gas stoves. But, the wok design makes it a bit of a challenge for use on an electric stove because the wok's shape is ideal for maximizing flame distribution. Whereas, the electric stove's heat is concentrated at the base of the pot or pan and dissipates quickly just inches above the stove. Hence, I have to keep the stove on high thruout the use of wok... making for more stirring and use of a cover. as long as you keep this in mind, you'll be a great small wok user on an electric stove!

Works great, but....
Great flat bottom wok, but even though I used only wooden utensils, a dime-sized piece of the non-stick coating chipped off. I had to throw it away. Very disappointed.

Is it durable?
Need to use it several times to see how it holds up.

Unstable
The base is too rounded and it wobbles on my range. I have a gas cooking range, so it will probably be worse on glass tops. It is a safety issue, while cooking especially deep frying I need to hold it steady with one hand so it won't overturn.

Bad product
I am usually pretty good about reading reviews for products that I buy, but didn't on this one and I definitely should have. I have used it about 8 times since receiving and noticed today as I was cleaning it that bubbles are starting to form in the coating. Bad, bad product.

Stirfry
The media could not be loaded. I had a bigger stirfry pan for years but it rusted out.I found this one and it’s perfect for two people cleans up very nicely no problems and I highly recommend it I love it and it works great

What a waste of money
At the second use the non stick surface bubbled and by the third the wok was pitted with spots where it had come off. Not worth buying. Im really careful with my utensils and only use silicone spatulas for cooking and soft sponges for cleaning. I have a couple other woks from other makes which have lasted quite a while . Very disappointed at this complete lack of quality and the fact I’ve lost money over it.

Joyce Chen Wok Pan
I bought this wok pan on 17 November 2022. Was delivered to me on 23 November 2022. Allthough the height of the pan is 7 cm high and not according to the description 8 cm as described in the Amazon US website, I have not returned the article. But now 3 weeks after using the small pan for a quick stir-fry chinese cooking, the carbon steel coating has started peeling. This is appalling. As can be seen from the photos attached, the bottom of the pan still look good but the inside of the pan has started to peel off. I have not used any brush nor sponge to clean this pan, as till now I have only used it for quick stir fry vegetables and instant noodles. Is there a guarantee on this pan?
