The stray guy loves it!
I purchased this for the stray cat that's lived on my back porch for the last 5 years or so. I remember that winter was particularly cold and I wanted him to be comfortable. I named him Paul Simon after the singer/songwriter because I can, wanna fight about it? After years of use, and a brutally cold winter this past year, it's still going strong. Now he sleeps on top of it like Snoopy from Peanuts. I've recommended it to several friends and family who have purchased it as well. Very easy to assemble and I didn't feel like it was going to be a fire hazard if kept plugged in over days at a time.

Feral Comfort
Have many different models and designs of these K&H houses. Use them for the feral colony we adopted. With all the ferals being spayed/neutered we wanted to keep them sheltered and close to the property for their protection. These work great! They have lasted for years and with the low power draw provide a nice, weather resistant shelter. Many a cold morning we are greeted by heads popping out of the doorways when we go out to feed. Keeping them on a covered (not enclosed) porch most likely helps with longevity and adds even more protection.

Works for recent Midwest Winters
Our community cat took to this little heated barn right away. When we had a brief time of blustery snow I cut a doorway into a tote and put it over top of the barn. Most of this past Winter was mild and the barn didn't need additional coverage. I took it apart a couple times and laundered and washed down the parts. This picture shows that he definitely claims ownership.

Cute
Not sure if the cat has actually set foot inside, but it's cute and seems very well made. Held up to a full winter outside with no issues. Doors are a little weird.

Cat Loves This House
My cat simply loves the house. He sleeps in it all the time whether it's heat is on or off. He's an indoor cat but likes to spend time on our screened porch. The house let's him get porch time on days that I would otherwise say it's too cold for him to be out.

Feral cat loves it
We've been feeding a feral cat when he shows up for the past few years, and finally got him into TNR this year. We found out he's now avoiding his usual shelter (in a neighbor's garage) in favor of our porch. Our winters are brutal in Indiana so we had provide a shelter! We modified a styrofoam cooler, but he refused to consider it. Research said feral cats want two ways to get out of a shelter, so we decided on this K&H heated cat house. He had a bed he slept on so we moved that into the cat house. It took a couple of weeks of putting treats and canned food into the cat house before he accepted it. Then we gave it a month before we put one clear plastic door on one end. He has fully accepted it - yay! He's an 11-lb cat and the house is a cozy fit for him: smaller is better than larger so there's less interior space to heat. I don't think 2 adult cats could fit in it unless they don't mind a pretty tight fit. We did place some woven rugs over the house since we're concerned winds might blow it around. It's padded canvas-like material so the cat house isn't very heavy. It stays nice and warm while he's in it, but it doesn't have much in the way of heavy insulation. We're in the process of modifying a cardboard box lined with bubble wrap to place around the cat house sides, and adding styrofoam sheets to the roof. He won't tolerate the second door being covered, and this weekend is supposed to be in the single digits - very cold! For the price and ease of assembly, this is a great medium-duty cat house for a single cat! Be patient with getting a cat to use it - bribing with food inside it took 2 weeks, but it worked! I wish it was better insulated. If K&H had offered a heavier-lined version of this, I would've paid the extra $$ to purchase it.

Wasn't what I expected but that's my fault and it's actually pretty nice
The cat house has been setup for since a brutal December below zero cold snap has is holding up fine, mostly out of the weather. Unfortunately our outside cat has never used it which is unfortunately since it seem like a good place to hang out when it's cold. The weight sensor on the heated pad worked well the hold time it was cold enough to warrant it but sadly it went unused by the cat.

VERY WELL-MADE PRODUCT
This is my 4th purchase of the K & H house. None have sat out in the elements so I can't verify how well they hold up in inclement conditions. But my own thought is, while they may hold up...they are sturdy, they should only be used outside if in a garage or other sheltered, off the ground situation; unless you live where it never rains or snows, or get strong winds. (I currently have one in a shed for a stray I'm feeding and hoping to rescue soon). *One little suggestion for use in a shed or garage: If you use an extension cord and it will be outside in the elements, buy an extension cord made for OUTSIDE USE, AND has a light in the plug that shows you DO have electricity working. These cost a little more, but are more safe; and the light, at a glance, let's you know the cat is staying warm. I currently have two inside cats. One cat is what I would call 'regular size' and she has plenty of room to spare inside her house. My other cat weighs close to 20 lbs. He tried a house one time and has never attempted to get inside another. He is just too big to fit comfortably. These K & H houses are pricey, for sure, but have you tried to compare them with other, cheaper brands? I have, and really, there is no comparison. Hope this helps.

Do not buy this if you want it for stray cats
My Mum has a couple of stray cats in her back garden, so I bought this for her to put out in the garden to keep them warm and dry during winter. I only found out when it was delivered that it is not for outdoors, and it came with the yee-hawrin american plug thingy for the warm blanket.

Good house don't buy the heated mat
The house is easy to put up and looks liek it will keep our cat protected from the elements outside. We also bought the heated Mat with it. Do not buy this, it comes with a US plug but more importantly its only 120v so unless you want to cremate your cat don't buy one.

Excellent
This is fantastic, I have two. The log cabin effect is beautiful too. You need a uk adapter.

Size is not exactly as advertised.
This kitty house is advertised by the manufacturer as being, 18 X 22 X 17. In fact, the 18 X22 measurements are for the roof line and not the actual floor or footprint of the house. In reality, it measures 13 X 16 inches. So definitely not as large and will only house one cat. Otherwise, it’s a good shelter.

My cat uses it! So I love it!
Winters coming....priority is making sure my kitty has a warm shelter when she ventures outdoors. As she loves to know what's going on in the neighbourhood had to line it up so she could see the comings and goings. Right now flowers are her camouflage. Unfortunately I don't have a garage, carport or open shed so hope it fairs through the winter of snow and cold winds. I only gave it a 4 as my cats don't like the faux wool bedding plus it's white showing all the dirt etc. dragged in. Too the flimsy bottom, so placed it on top of a foam piece. Then laid a dish mat on top of bedding for her comfort and easier cleaning. Shipping was fast, thank you.
