Great chair! Pulled off my first wheelie!
I am very excited about this chair. It is replacing a Drive Rebel. This is so much sturdier and well built! I love the sturdiness of the arm rests particularly as I often perch on them for high transfers into a Jeep, and use them often to push myself up and adjust my position. The footrests do not stick out as badly as other swingaway types, and the wheels slide off like butter vs wrestling with my Drive chair. The back folds down for a good sitting posture since the curve of my spine is severe. The balance seems much better in this chair, and I will be investing in a seatbelt and protective gear to start practicing wheelchair skills with a spotter, not anti tip bars. The only cons are with the headrest. When I picked it up to assemble, it fell apart in my hands and crashed to the floor. I lost a tiny m3 bolt in the crash, or it was missing all along. I was able to install the headrest anyway, but with the headrest on the chair only folds a little since the headrest prevents the push canes from coming closer together. It's sufficient for when my caregiver is assisting me, but not when I am out by myself driving. I opted not to use the headrest for now, but I probably will in the future especially when my neck is bothering me. Since medicare will probably never pay for a WCMX Box wheelchair, my next 5-year medicare paid chair will probably be Karma also...if this one ever gets worn out. It appears it will last me a good long time.
