Stylish, classy, sophisticated - and a bargain.

I was a bit worried by the reviews that talk about scratches, blemishes, and extreme difficulties with assembly. But this lamp was the most attractive one I was able to find, so I decided to order it despite some critical reviews. I'm so glad I took a chance on this lamp -- I love it! With its streamlined design, geometric shapes, and clean lines, it looks very stylish, classy, simple yet sophisticated. I asked my brother to take on the assembly for me. It was quick and easy; he was able to complete the job in 20 minutes. Luckily, the 2 halves of the pole lined up perfectly, unlike the disjointed pole that another reviewer complained about. The lamp arrived unscratched in excellent condition, and it seems sturdy and durable. It stands upright and is perfectly balanced, unlike the unbalanced lamp that another reviewer wrote about. Amazon's current price ($98) is a steal! I saw this lamp on several other websites; they are all selling this same lamp for double Amazon's current price. At this price, I'd buy a second lamp if I had a place to put it!

Packaging sucks but product is fine.

I purchased two of these and while I like them just fine, I don’t think I’d buy them again. The assembly was not hard at all but the worst part of this product was the packaging. The foam they used in packaging got EVERYWHERE. For that reason, it would not want to go thru the hassle of buying another one and spending an hour cleaning up. A lot of reviews mention the alignment and balance issues. While I did not have issues with either base and stand, the shade would not stay balanced without trying to bend it a little, risking breaking it. The shade is also a darker sand color so expect something a little darker than the photos. Would I recommend this to a friend, meh. I’d definitely warn them about the cheap packaging.

Love it!

Was a little apprehensive about ordering after reading some reviews but happy I did. Assembly was a bit tricky but not as difficult as some of the other reviews had described. Had the lamp unboxed, assembled and put in place in under 30 minutes. Very heavy and sleek looking. Four star review because the lamp pole doesn't fit together as well as I would like. Otherwise, very happy with this lamp.

Hoped for better...

I had read several reviews about this product before pulling the trigger on it... Unfortunately, the reviews stating the lamp came damaged proved to be true again- the box was really beat up, and the lamp body has several deep scratches that take the dark bronze finish off and leave the super shiny bronze showing (I'm tempted to scratch my own pattern into the rest of the body if I can't stop noticing it!) The directions are ridiculously generic, and I got extra parts that don't even serve a function for my lamp (Where do you put a swivel on a lamp that doesn't swivel?) Also, while the base is nice and heavy, the actual body is held up by cramming a long pole through one hole in the base and securing it with a wingnut- stability, not so much... For the price I thought I was going to get a decent lamp I could use for a long time, instead I'd say drop $50 at Target and save the self loathing!!

Perfect and attractive

Some poor reviews on this lamp but I received mine and could not have been happier. It is attractive, heavy and substantial. It graced the space I used it in. I was perfectly satisfied with it.

Handsome light at a good price.

I'm very happy with this purchase. Lamp is nicely-made, especially considering the reasonable price. It arrived very well packaged, no damage. Easy to assemble. It will stand straight if you crank the bolt holding the pieces together nice and firm. It looks good in our living room. Uses a 150 watt bulb so it provides a lot of light. The shade is not pure white, but almost. (In other words, it's not a cream or ivory color.)

Great to slide under a couch and illuminate a dark corner

I adore this lamp. My new sectional sofa meant no place for light in the corner. I had to brighten up the cave! This lamp was perfect because the base slid under the couch easily. I added the dimmer switch/slider and tucked it into the couch so you can easily sit and adjust the lighting. Assembly really wasn't difficult, though took a bit for me to get it perfect. I do recommend putting on the lamp shade after the lamp is in place. I accidentally bent mine trying to slide it under the couch... luckily you really can't tell.
