Great baskets

Great baskets for koi pond plants

Nice sized basket

I know this is made for plants and I will be using it for that purpose when my plants get here, but for now, I have been using this to keep my round floating solar panel in the middle of my itty bitty container pond. Keeping one of those in the middle of your vessel is a pain and water shoots out which makes you have to fill it up again. Even tying a rock to it hasn't helped it stay in one place, but this basket has. I have to let the water level go down just a bit, but it's worth it. I enjoy looking at the spray action. Update: I finally put my plants in this basket and I love it. I put gravel in the basket, then dirt, added the plants and then gravel on top. The handles were helpful. After carefully placing the basket in the container, a light bit of dirt residue drifted from the basket, but not much. You have to place the basket slowly in the container to release the air or all of the dirt may float out. I'm hoping that these plants do well.

Great for indoor pond

I float duckweed and hornwort in these, to build up my stock, so that they aren't eaten by my goldfish. I release a little at a time, and in a coupe of days it seems replenished. So, I have a constant supply of duckweed for them to nibble on. I don't have to grab it from other tanks, anymore. Also would work to isolate a fish, while keeping them submerged.

Nice size basket

I haven’t put this to use yet as I am waiting for aquatic soil but this is a good size basket and should help with a large water plant I am repotting. I think it will help my plants to sit more stable in my pond with some river rock holding it all together.

LOVE THESE BASKETS...

I've ordered several of these baskets and are very happy with them. I float them on the top of my pond and aquaponic tanks by simply cutting out a 2-3" frame and sitting the basket in it. I fill them with clay pellets and pop herbs in them. This serves two purposes; helps remove the nitrites and nitrates from the tank and protects the roots form the fish, shades the tank water to help keep algae from growing and keeps the fish from jumping out of the tank. I wouldn't say they are flimsy but they aren't heavy either- they can't be or they wouldn't float. For my setup, this item has resolved a lot of issues.

Very very thin sides with sharp edges

I always go to the pond store for filter baskets(they distribute laguna products also) when I received these I knew the quality was lacking. Although I used it for my Pump filter, it certainly wasn’t where near the durability of the ones I get from the pond store. Sides were so thin they tore...I always would have to cut a hole in side to put pump in...for price it was a good deal but the quality is significantly lacking, also the actual spacing between the grids along the side walls was very weak, there was a thin sheet of plastic between each tiny hole making it less permeable. I think I got a defective batch.
