Just like I remember.
These are just like the cans I remember from the 80's. Very durable, no holes - and no o-rings either, but I can get them from Amazon if the need arises. One thing to note on delivery: open the can and let it sit for a couple of days to vent out the plastic smell from the inside. Give it a quick wash inside and out with some hot water and a few drops of bleach, rinse well, and then let it sit again for another day before filling with water. As others have noted, there are a few places with some extra plastic, such as along the handle, but it isn't a deal breaker. All in all, happy with the purchase.

Somebody bring me some water
Well this summer my wife and I bought a little camper. We love the thing! Mostly we have been going to campgrounds, but occasionally we do like “boondocking”. Now our little camper has a 40 gallon water tank, and God knows that should be plenty. But my little princess has been known to like a nice long shower. And although I can certainly live without a shower, I’m not gonna go without either drinking water or something to flush with! lol. This container is perfect for me. It’s the real deal. Exactly the same as military issues. Sturdy, rugged and heavy. One of the things that was very important to me was the caps. I need to be able to lie it down on its side in the back of my truck under the tonneau cover. I filled it up all the way to the top and left it in the truck for three days. No leakage. Exactly what I wanted. Made in Mississippi-USA ???????? That’s very important to me. I love my country Highly recommend Thanks for reading

Great water container
Great container! This is my second one. I also bought a replacement lid that I installed a Schrader valve and a spigot with an internal pex tube onto so I can pressurize this to about 10-15psi and have pressurized water for camping (thanks YouTube for those instructional videos). Then I can switch to it's regular cap for transport. I love that these containers don't leak no matter what orientation you put them in.
