Great fun toy
Me and my five year old have a lot of fun playing with this and designing things.

Fun!
I got this for my son (5 yrs) for Christmas and he loves it. Great STEM activities and just lots of fun. Even his 12 year old brother enjoyed making it. At least 45 minutes of play and peace for adults. It does not have a remote control and it is 100% up to the builder to put it together since that’s the point of the toy. Would buy again and wish I had a set for my classroom!

Excellent toy!
Perfect Christmas gift! Pieces big enough for kids to manipulate by themselves. Easy to assemble, endless play time!

Better for older kids
I know the box says 5 yrs old and up, but it really needs to be rated for a bit older. Purchased for my almost 6 yr old & currently a adult is needed to build with the child. It is enjoyable & a great toy, so I’ll give a good rating, but it can’t go as low as the recommended age.

Disappointed
4 year old needed help to assemble. Intended to make one design. Thought this would be for imaginative creating.

It was awesome! Only it did not come with controls. But so fun to play with. even though it did not come with controls i still love it.

Great for engaging little minds
I have a couple of sets in my classroom and the little ones are very creative in their creations. Keeps them engaged for long periods of time.

Not good enough for a 5+. Maybe a 10+.
You get what you see and it works. Notwithstanding that, the pieces are hard to pull apart (for a kid), it is hard to do complicated things until you have experimented a lot, unlike legos. It doesn’t lend itself to casual play. It is well made. But it’s mislabeled. It’s really for 8+. However even a 5+ can play with it.

Very good for budding engineers!
Got these for my sons fifth birthday following the success of giving him the easier, more basic set, for his third birthday. Its one of the toys that he goes to the most, very good for imaginative play, he's always building fantastic little machines. This set will require a bit more adult help I think until he gets the hang of the possibilities.

Good fun for kids. I will probably buy some more.
This is a good quality, fun product for kids. The only problem I have is with the website. There is a link given in the instructions that is supposed to give access to additional devices that can be made with the parts in the kit, but it does not appear to be functional.

Not for a 3 year old!
Gift for a 3 year old with the engineering skill of Brunel...

EXCELLENT TOY
This is today's edition of Meccano, for those who remember it. Loads of bits and pieces for a child to fix together in endless combinations, bringing out the engineer in them. Meccano was metal but this is plastic but still very sturdy. Amazing the creations that can be put together and taken apart again. Lots of decent sized building pieces to fix in primary colours for added pleasure. A nice size for childrens' hands.
