"I Could Get Down With A Fireman"

"You know," she said, her voice sounding underwater through my cell phone speaker, "I'm sort of into a fireman fantasy. I could get down with a fireman." A beat passed. I was silent. The silence swallowed her up, made her expectant. "Firemen are wack." My tone said it all - the conversation would move to something else. Meanwhile my thumb slid across my cracked cell screen, and I pulled up the Amazon shopping app on my phone. I found this outfit and purchased it. The pants were of shockingly high quality, though even I purchased the medium/large and they looked on me (6 ft, 180 lbs, 33 inch waist) like MC Hammer parachute pants. The suspenders worked fine, and the shirt was a faux Under Armour material - that shimmery athletic gear texture. It's way big on me. I ended up cutting the sleeves off it (which is an interesting thing to do in and of itself. Cutting the sleeves off changes the shirt forever - once the sleeves go they can never come back. Like plucking an early summer rose, and hoping your girlfriend will smile when she sees it. It will never grow again). The most important thing to note is that there is no hat in the package, even though it is shown in the picture. The picture could not be more misleading. I read the product description beforehand though, so was not surprised when it showed up without a hat. I bought a hat at this linkAdult Fire Fighter Helmet in Black , which was awesome and perfect. So in conclusion: the pants are great quality and shirt is usable in other ways. They are both big, but quality makes up for it. Saturday night. A pounding like thunder comes to the door. She is startled. "Who is it?" she calls. "FIRE DEPARTMENT. OPEN UP. WE SMELLED SMOKE AND ARE HERE TO PUT OUT THE FIRE." Four stars.

It fits too large.

The quality was good for a costume. Everything that was included arrived (no helmet). For a male that wears mediums and larges and is around 200lbs this was way too big and unflattering. He was supposed to match with me for Halloween but had to change costumes.

Straps broke, cheap material

My boyfriend looks so hot in this but the material is cheap and the straps broke :/

The straps were not adjustable and broke within 1 hour of wear.

Be Prepared To Do Some Work!

I bought a medium/large thinking it would fit my 6'1" athletic boyfriend. Nope, the pants were still too long and MUCH too wide. And all the reviews about the suspenders are true; they aren't very durable. The black part that attaches to the button on the pants is a paper thin material. But this is the best fire fighter costume I could find ANYWHERE, so we decided to go with it. I fixed the pants using safety pins and they look pretty good now, and he reinforced the suspenders with gorilla tape. The shirt is actually a pretty strong polyester fabric, so minus the static it doesn't need any alterations. It's a little long but he tucks it into the pants anyways. All in all, the costume looks decent, just be prepared to do a little work when you get it because it will likely not fit and you WILL have to reinforce the suspenders somehow or they will break.

The hole to insert the strap buttons is made with very thin material and rips easy but other than that pretty solid costume

Pants run big, shirt true to size

The pants are way bigger then the sizing chart leads you believe and the shirt is true to size. Not a good mix. The outfit was really cute just sizing was to far off on both pieces to fit XL person properly.

Was wayyyyyyy to big

Was wayyyyyyy to big for my husband. I bought a large which is normally what he wears in anything else. He looked like he was swimming in it. Pants were too long they drug on the floor and he’s 5”11 180 lbs. Nice costume just know the sizes run big.

Good quality costume, they need to fix the suspenders.

Amusingly this fire fighter costumer is now the most flammable clothing I own. The material is unlabeled, but it can't be ironed or steamed without it melting. So just leave the wrinkles alone and you'll be fine! The pants and the shirt are of good quality and construction - much better than the average costume. Real buttons and a real zipper, not just velcro! The only let down are the suspenders. They are comically short. They need to be at least 12" longer! I barely got them on and over my shoulders, and that meant wearing the pants REALLY high. Luckily the pants are pretty long.

Too big

It was giant, I I used the size charts. I’m 5’11” and 180 lbs and it fit like a fat suit. I had to purchase elsewhere last minute.
