Not a mixing bowl

So I thought I could use it as a mixing bowl with wet and dry ingredients but it leaked because the wood isn't well sealed on the base. If you want a salad bowl it's decent but there's a problem with the wood finish. It's pretty cheap (surprise, surprise) so the finish is rough and that bugs me. If you're fine with all that I think it would be fine for a decorative bowl.
