Easy to install

Prominent flange that can cause a short

We bought these because we replaced all of the switches and outlets in our house and are using the claro screw less white faceplates. These outlets are 3x more expensive then the leviton TR outlets, but the color is exactly the same as the face plates. We ended up using these just in areas where the outlets would be eye level (mainly the kitchen) so you couldn't notice the difference in white color close up. The problem I ran into with these is the the flange that connect the two terminal is bigger then any other outlets I have seen. After connecting all the outlets turning the breaker back on the fuse blew. I think maybe I miss wife a hot and neutral since my headlamp light was dieing, but I found out one of the copper ground wires became untucked and touched this prominent flange causing a short. They still look great, just make sure you really tuck your ground wire if it isn't insulated.

Just a cover on an older-style round duplex outlet

I really like most of Lutron's products, but these are a disappointment. They square "Decora"-style front is just a cover on top of an older-style round duplex outlet. I figured this out when I accidentally popped it off during installation. Also, the receptacle does not have push-in terminals for the wires, so you have no choice but to use the screw terminals. Having used Leviton's outlets in the past, I would definitely go with those in the future. They are more solidly built, easier to install, and cheaper.

Wonderful tamper resistant plugs

Pull the dog ears off if you install in a cut-in/retrofit/old work box for a flush fit. These are great -always install in kitchen projects because they are tamper resistant for code and are not frustrating to plug things into even when new - and don’t have tons of little engraved warning text all over their face like the other brands.

Very cool color outlets!

I love these Lutron outlets. Yes they are unnecessarily expensive compared to the cheap contractor ones, but they really add that attention to detail in your home. Your house will look like those on HGTV with these outlets and a nice wall paint job. The cover plates are not included with the outlets or any of the light switches so make sure you pick up the matching color cover plate.

Expensive but the right color

I did not order enough Lutron Sienna colored receptacles, so was really glad I could get just the one from Amazon. It matches the wood on my kitchen island fairly well. These semi custom colors are hard to find, but add such a nice detail. I do not love the fact that the wallplate (not included) sticks out a bit from the wall, but that is the price for not having exposed screws, I guess.

Lutron Great Quality.

First I bought these receptacles for safety, the tamper resistant is a must to prevent little fingers from sticking metal into the little holes. I also liked that they fit /look better with the Lutron Claro wall plates. I had previously used some competitor's receptacles but they didn't sit flush with the wall plate. The only thing that Lutron could improve on is the price. These receptacles weren't cheap to replace all of them during renovations.
