The Martin Kilpatrick Vortex Ping Pong Paddle is designed for family fun and is the third step in the MK Racket Series. It is a 5-ply, all-wood construction. The Pips-Out surface will reduce the opponents spin whether returning serves, blocking or counterattacking. The additional sponge layer will offer more speed and spin that the Martin Kilpatrick Cyclone Racket. The Vortex comes with a flared (FL) handle style. It is concave at the center, ergonomic and comfortable, and it is the most popular style grip. The Martin Kilpatrick (MK) Racket Series is designed so that each racket is an inexpensive and natural transition to the next racket. From Sandpaper (MK Thunder), to Pips-Out with no sponge (MK Cyclone) to Pips-Out with sponge (MK Vortex) to a combination Pips-In/Pips-Out (MK Blaze) and lastly a Pips-In/Pips-In (MK Tsunami), the MK Racket Series covers all the bases. PLEASE NOTE: Like most recreational rackets, this racket is assembled with a glue that is intended to keep the surface permanently attached to the wood for the life of the racket.

These belong to 99 cents store. Sponges are non-existent, handle is too short, trim is peeling off. Basically it's a piece of plywood with a thin layer of rubber. No spin, no grip, no nothing

feels nice in your hand

We bought a ping pong table during the quarantine not knowing anything about how to play. Purchased these so that four of use could play at once. These are much better quality paddles than the ones that came with our table. They are a little heavier not to heavy but you can feel them in you hand. The handles are better sanded and there is padding on both sides. The balls that came with them I'm told are much better than the cheap ones I bought at 60/$10. I don't' notice a difference in them but my family says they bounce better.

Packaging tampered, possibly a reship, disappointed with adhesive on hitting surfaces.

The clamshell was cut open along the edge and I assumed that happened in shipping until I looked more closely as the hitting surfaces and saw all had a reflective raised area where it appeared the glue was not adhered underneath. They are usable on our new table but we will look for better quality and larger adult handles now.

Low cost for a quality paddle

This paddle is the best defensive paddle I have used. You can easily return some wicked shots by your opponent.

Great Paddles

No wear after over a year of having these paddles. Used in a college dorm by many individuals, now have a safe place in an apartment. Still used once in a while but absolutely no wear on the paddles, rubber still in great condition. Mind you people have thrown these and not been particularly gentle, yet they are still in wonderful shape. I can see some fraying occurring if people are really brutal to these. But for standard recreational players these paddles are a fantastic choice.
