Works Well! A Cleansing Face Mask – Exfoliates, Deep Cleans & Removes Impurities
# My Review This review is for American Crew ACUMEN Clay Exfoliating Cleanser Mask for Men. As first impressions go, this is a high-quality designer product with a superior blended formula that sets it apart from its “off the shelf” competition. Trying this particular brand, I can confirm that this works well and as such is positioned at a higher price point for what it does. This cleanser mask is packaged in an American Crew branded box that has a simple, yet classic look and details the ingredients, directions of use, etc. on the back and sides. Inside the box is a similarly branded 5.1 fl. oz. wide squeeze tube with the same labeling and descriptive details. The tube is relatively strong and durable with a flip-top lid to allow for the cream to be dispensed quickly & easily with the desired amount. As the product description states, this cleanser is designed and formulated with a combination of vitamins, antioxidants, and moisturizers that are known to exfoliate dead skin, remove impurities, soften, soothe, and calm. The end result is a healthier looking and glowing skin. The consistency is thick and coarse which contains some small beads to create some friction to lift and exfoliate dead skin. Don’t expect this to foam up, it’s a clay-based cream that’s supposed to be applied and left on to dry. Applying the cleanser doesn’t feel abrasive, but has a nice feeling as it’s rubbed in and a slight cooling sensation as it dries. The cleanser tightens up and feels like it’s doing something! A small amount is sufficient enough to spread evenly. Once it’s left on for some time, it washes off easily and doesn’t feel over dry at the end. Once off, it leaves a clean, exfoliated and smooth looking skin that’s glowing after it’s moisturized. Overall, this is a good face cleansing mask for all types of skin. A small amount goes along way and it feels just right on the skin. I can recommend this. ** Thanks for reading my review! Not noticable smell before/after, easy to apply/clean off and works well at leaving the skin soft
I got this for my husband as I have gotten him into skincare products and since I have a few masks myself I thought of getting him one that was meant for him and only him to use. To start the packaging does come across nice and tasteful for a man almost like this would be something you could purchase at a Bath and Body as apart of a line that included the face wash and lotion. When using this we did use this in conjunction to steaming his face along with washing and toning his face prior to applying this mask. He did mention upon application that the product did feel cooling, slightly heavy and did have a little of a tingling sensation to it. However once on for a few mins the tingling started to disapate and the mask did not harden to a clay once dry but was easy to wash off afterwards. There wasnt an unpleasent scent from in and in fact I dont remember there being a scent during application or once he was done. The clay comes out as a white thick cream and I didnt have to use much in order to apply an even coverage. Once he cleaned the mask off he did apply toner and moisturizer just before bed and stated that his face felt softer and very moisturized. Overall I will say this was a win if he is willing to continue to try the product and keep it. I think this would make a great gift to any man as they dont always have a way of pampering themselves and this kinda helps them to feel good about themselves.

Great cleanser but does smell like clay
This is a great cleanser, which I like using. I use a facial scrub at least 3 times a week with my current preferred cleanser being Nivea Mens facial scrub. The formula has changed slightly over the years (no more micro beads) but I've generally been happy with it. SO how does this compare my old go-to cleanser? * Grit. There is a definite grit to this though it isn't super aggressive like my wife's St. Ives. This feels about right for a daily cleanser though I would probably alternate with a non-gritty wash like a Cetaphil. * Texture. Out of the bottle this has a consistency like soft toothpaste. White and pasty. Definitely different from my usual cleansers. * Scent. Smells like clay - very much like those clay bars you use to detail a car. Odd. * Clean feeling. Very nice; I do like the way my face feels after using this scrub. Clean, fresh but not raw. In summary, I really do like this cleanser. The scent is definitely different but my face feels great after using this. American Crew has been my go to hair product for years, from Pomade to Fiber and now cream. They make great stuff in my opinion and this is not different. But this stuff isn't cheap and truthfully I'm just not sure if it's worth the premium that AC is asking for it.

Ottomo prodotto
Uno dei migliori scrub/maschera per il viso che abbia mai provato. Non lo trovavo più dal mio barbiere e sono stato molto contento di trovarlo su Amazon! Bravi.

Smells nice, feels lovely on the skin
I know this is supposed to be for men but I'm not a fan of product gendering and don't see why the dude should get all the treats. This is honestly one of the nicest daily cleansers I've ever used. It comes presented in a classy box and the tube itself looks classy too. The scent is really nice and fresh but not overpowering. It's very subtly fragranced. It gives your skin that nice menthol tingle after you use it which I like. It's refreshing and gives you that clean feeling. It's exactly what it says on the box - a gentle exfoliator. It's not going to give you a good hard scrub like an apricot scrub for example, but that's what makes this a really good one for daily use. The particles are gentle and not too many so a good 1 or 2 minutes of facial massage gives you a nice finish. And the nicest thing about it is that the clay makes it feel so silky smooth while you're using it and then leaves your skin feeling lovely afterwards without making it too dry. My partner has sensitive skin so I will ask him if he wants to try it, but for sure it will be part of my skincare routine from now on.

Excellent product but too expensive
The product contains polishing beads which are very small thus quite effective at removing dead skin, dirt, and oils; the clay helps to clean the pores when it dries; the included hyaluronic acid helps to improve skin hydration and the ginger root extract helps to restore skin's elasticity. The product has very little perfume added to give it a manly touch, however, it is not a good thing to put fragrance onto facial skin as it may cause irritation, thankfully there isn't too much added so I did not have issues as my skin is somewhat sensitive. It is very easy to use, at first you have to gently rub it onto the skin to exfoliate it and then you leave it for several minutes for it to dry up and then it can be rinsed off. After using it I can feel that my skin is a bit dry, clean, and soft. For dryness, I would recommend putting a bit of moisturiser afterwards. There is no denying the effectiveness of this product but the asking price (£22 RRP) is excessive, to say the least, so although I like the product I wouldn't buy it as there are plenty of other similar products at much cheaper prices.

A light-weight clay-based mask with silica exfoliator
You get 150 mL in this boxed tube. They call this an 'exfoliating cleanser'. It is not a traditional cleanser. Instructions are: apply all over the face, allow to dry and then rinse thoroughly. It doesn't say how long you leave it, but it doesn't completely dry like a traditional clay mask because it contains glycerin and vegetable oils. It does also contain traditional clays, namely kaolin and bentonite. It's opaque, thanks to the titanium dioxide – a white colourant. The exfoliating ingredient is silica, basically very fine sand, which is preferable to nonbiodegradable micro-balls. It is artificially fragranced, it's quite a pleasant, spicy smell -- although the missus turned out to be a bit sensitive to it, allergywise. It's quite pricey at over 20 quid. If you are looking for a lightweight, clay-mask-based product which doubles as an exfoliator, this might be an option. I'm not sure I would recommend it for sensitive skin because of the potential for irritation from the silica.
