Great, but BIG
I returned the 10 inch version of this because it was OBNOXIOUSLY big. This version is way more acceptable, but understand still, it is BIG. It will take up a fair amount of space in whatever spot you're trying to keep it. Other than that, I use it for everything from rinsing rice to straining pasta. I love this thing, and it has 99% replaced my colander.

Great size
Needed this long ago for cooking oil and straining sauces

Well made
This product is very sturdy, but the bottom of the cone is flat and has very few holes so it does not strain as well as I would have liked. I tried it for separating honey from the comb and also tried using it for separating seeds from berries to make jam but because of the flat shape most things just settle to the bottom and it's hard to push through or break things up. It didn't work as well as I had hoped.

Pureed soups need this!
If you want a silky consistency to pureed soups and sauces (and who doesn't?), run the cooked liquid through this strainer perhaps a dozen times to remove the non-soluble fiber. Really good with things like tomato sauce and vegetable-based soups. This version is pretty sturdy. It seems a bit smaller than it looks in the photo, but the larger one is just too large for home use; either way, they're bulky to store. But you'll wonder why you didn't have this in your cooking arsenal before.

Great item to have
I can not believe how many times we have used this. I am not sure how we lived without this

High quality
Very large and sturdy. I use it while making stocks and this holds quite a bit while allowing the liquid to easily pass.

Perfect for seeding tomatoes.
This is just what I wanted to process home-grown tomatoes. You will need to find a pestle to fit, however.

Fits the bill!
Works great! Make sure you wash it out as soon as you are finished using it. It will make things much easier, nut having said that a good two minute soak in warm water will fit the bill too.
