Decent product, but rusting too quickly

Installation was fine. I'm concerned about the approach of using a screw to latch the door as I expect that will rust and become a problem down the road, but after 6-8 months so far it is still able to be removed. I am disappointed however that the paint/coating isn't better, it is rusting significantly after 6-8 months. Overall a decent product, but wish the design/quality were a little better.

Great door!

Our old clean out door rusted away. This one was easy to install and very heavy duty. I just sat it in the hole and adjusted the screws for a tight fit. I used black caulk to seal around it.

Worth every penny

I had to replace two broken fire doors so I ordered these well worth what I paid for easy install functional durable everything you could ask for. I would recommend

Review

This product was purchased as a replacement for an existing rusted out cleanout door. The new door is fastened to the frame with a screw. A positive feature of this design. Another feature of this product is that four screws can be utilized to secure the frame to the structure of the opening. I'm glad I purchased this product.

Excellent fit and finish. Fit perfectly.

This is a great product. Excellent initial quality on fit and finish. I tapped it into the opening with a block of wood. Perfect snug fit all around. Looks great.

Missing Bolt and nut

The product looks durable and well made. Unfortunately, there is one missing bolt and ???? nut. I have added a photo to show where the missing piece should go. Make me mad that I have to run to the hardware store for this . The company clearly didn’t pay attention.

Weather Stripping Makes this a Perfect Door

I installed the door in my chimney, and I am completely satisfied with it. Before I purchased it, I knew I would have to seal the door with weather stripping to get an air tight fit so I did not decrease my evaluation of the product for that extra work. After I mortared my chimney opening to fit the new door, I caulked the frame before pushing it into the modified hole. I used a cement caulk. I let it dry for 24 hours and everything is working fine. By the way, I shorten the four mounting screws so that they would not stick out so far.

Good cast iron door.

Nice piece. it has adjustable screws on the back side to lock it in. They should show a picture, it allows flexible sizes. I put a ring of mortar around the back flange, pushed it in place and tightened the screws to lock it in. The only weak point is the door is held closed with a screw which I am sure will have rust issues later in life.
