It was the correct plug
This is a direct replacement for my Xi5 36VMotor Guide trolling motor, and it works well. I would like these to be made sturdier as this is my third plug in three years. I do fish a lot and plug and unplug the trolling motor so I can remove the trolling motor from the front of the boat at the end of the day and place it under the boat cover to keep it out of site at the docks. The two before this one broke internally on the upright plastic piece that holds the wires secure. This wouldn't happen if the outer grip would stay in place and not twist. I have glued the outer grip this time in hopes that doesn't happen again.

Good luck!
No information on how to attach the wires to the male plug. Had to pry the bottom of the male end with a screwdriver to properly attach the wires. You can not get continuity by just taking a test with it together. You have to take it apart to do so.
