It has a terrible odor

The quality of this pullover is extremely poor. It started to pill and have loose threads immediately, but the worst thing about it is a strong odor that doesn't go away with washing. Unfortunately, I thought washing would eliminate the odor so it can't be returned and it's going in the trash.
