I didn't know how much I needed this!

OMG. This thing is the best! I had no idea how much it would improve my nursing experience. I only ordered it because my chiropractor told me that I should get a nursing pillow or nursing my chubby little boy will wreak havoc on my back before too long. I had a boppy with my first and was not a fan. Never could get comfortable with it, so when I stumbled across this and read all the great reviews about it buckling in the back, I thought I would give it a shot. Not only do baby and I both love it (I really think it supports him in the optimal nursing position) but I love being able to wear it around while I'm tucking in my older kids and nursing simultaneously. It's a huge help and makes nursing while teaching my kids school, eating, etc., so much easier and more comfortable! The pocket is definitely a perk too. Oh, and the lumbar support is a must-have for nursing in bed in the middle of the night! Love this thing, 5 stars!

I recently had my 2nd child and this breastfeeding pillow was a game changer. I did not have a positive experience breastfeeding my firstborn for a multitude of reasons, but one of them was that we could never get comfortable. With my 2nd born I started having the same troubles so I went to a lactation consultant. They introduced me to this pillow and it made a huge difference for me and the baby. I felt like I could confidently and comfortably breastfeed for the first time. I like the sturdiness of the pillow, I like that I can adjust it to be snug against me, I like how easy it is to switch to different breastfeeding holds, and I also like the back support.

Best Breastfeeding Pillow I’ve Found

I was using the Boppy pillow before this but the ends were way too flat and small to support my arms and be comfortable. I tried putting extra pillows underneath it, using regular pillows on their own, using folded blankets with pillows… nothing really worked well though and it was getting really frustrating. I’ve had the Brest Friend pillow for a few days now and it’s been the BEST. The thickness is just right for me, the material and cover is soft enough but easy to clean, and I like that I can easily turn it to one side or the other if needed. I was a little hesitant about having to strap into something but the back padding is supportive enough while not being too thick or annoying, and I can’t even really tell the actual strap is there. I also like that it comes with a small pocket on the front. 10/10 would recommend!

Worth it

I realllly wanted to make the organic moon pillow work but when we got our babies ties fixed, the lactation consultant had this pillow and it was SO much easier than the moon pillow, I literally bought it as soon as we left the office. It’s like the perfect little shelf for baby to fully lay and relax on, I use it for every feeding unless we’re out and about in which case I really miss it. Makes nursing way easier

This is the best breastfeeding pillow ever! I was using the pillow that’s shaped like a “C” and I thought it was good, my friend gifted me this and omggg no more back pain and I can lay my baby on the pillow without having to hold him since hes being supported by my lap. He’s growing and it is still helpful for sure!! I bought this one as a gift. Everyone should have one!

Sturdy & comfy

This is perfect for cross cradle with a newborn. It has awesome back support for me, and the adjustable strap keeps it sturdy and level for baby. I love the head supporting bumps too. My only complaint is that I wish the cover was 100% cotton, but it is nice and waterproof. I also wish the replacement covers weren't so expensive. But all-in-all, I really like this pillow and use it more than my Boppy right now while baby is so small.

The beast pillow

A million times better than a Boppy!

I struggled with a boppy for three weeks with my newborn until finally ordering this pillow and it is so so so much better! It has a little pocket to hold my phone and my baby fits perfectly. Def recommend!

The BEST purchase ever for a breastfeeding mama

This was a great purchase! I was hesitant to buy it considering the price but I'm so glad I did. This pillow is very firm, so it supports the baby really well without you needing to do much to support their head or body. My old pillow got really soft and I ended up with a sore back and wrist from hunching and holding the baby despite the pillow. After a week using this my back felt better because it does all the work for you. I also didn't realize how handy the little pocket would be for keeping things like vitamin D drops and nail clippers close by. I would recommend this and buy it for all future pregnant friends.

Not good for football hold, and cushion is too thin and not thick enough

Pros: -flatter top than traditional pillow cushions, so my baby does not roll as much nor slowly rolls into me while feeding. - sturdy and flat is good for cross/cradle holds - pocket in front is handy for small items to keep closeby like a cell phone. - padding in the back is good back/lumbar support -foam cushion firmer than pillow cushions -more affordable than other styles from this brand (appears to be exact same specifications) - you can walk around with it if needed and it probably won't fall down when clipped on. (without baby of course) Cons: - The thickness/height of the cushion is only 11cm or 4.25 inches! That is incredibly thin and is definitely not thick enough to bring a newborn up to the boob to feed! I am 5'6" and needed additional couch cushions underneath to prop it up higher. This plus positioning and clipping it while holding a crying baby makes for additional work and highly annoying. Seems like this was made for short torsos or an older infant/toddler. - Not good for football hold and clearly the design did not consider this hold. The fit around the waist is oblong, not circular, when clasp is done up, so this is really ineffective and uncomfortable for me when I do football hold to feed. Rotating sideways also renders the backrest useless. - I'm thin build, and it fits with some room to spare if I ever gain weight. But I don't see that there is enough room for any waist of plus size. - There are two circular raised foam areas near both sides of the top of cushion. Not clear what these are for. If these are the arm/elbow rests that is in the description, the raised areas are way too close to centre and not even close to elbows, maybe a forearm rest? If they are for the baby's head comfort, perhaps they're useful, but I didn't find it helped for me as the cushion was short to begin with anyway, and these bumps caused baby to roll a little. - They call the strap "silent release". I found this to be opposite; everytime, it would startle baby, or wake him if he fell asleep... it's a plastic buckle that is pretty loud, unless you do it slowly and hold with your hand to release. Have not washed the cover yet, so cannot comment. Also, with other reviews, this is foam and probably not easy to clean in case messes get in/on the foam. Overall, there are good points on this; mainly so that the baby doesn't roll because it's flat, and the back rest attached. Otherwise, I would not purchase again, unless it was made with thicker padding to accommodate the torso length (perhaps if made like those cushioned lap desks), and if it could accommodate a football hold properly. It's a lot of work to get comfortable/positioned to feed and sometimes I go back to the regular feeding cushion for speediness.

This product is a life saver!

Very happy with this purchase. It does everything it claims in the add. Support, comfort and easy to use! However, I do have some negative feed back on it, I was disappointed that when I received it the quality of the fabric was sub-par, it is a cheap cotton (however it did wash ok). My other negative was that it smelt really bad like glue and chemicals. I can only assume this came from the packaging and the adhesive they use to put the pillow together. Even after washing the cover it still has an odor. Not ideal for a newborn in my books. I will continue to use it because it is a great product, but I try and put my own blanket over it to mask the adhesive smell.

Try it out first, if you can

This was a life saver when baby was first born and I had no idea what I was doing. Baby was super comfortable and it helped with latching and positioning. Baby is now nearly 7 months and we still use it for all of our feeds. The main thing I don’t love is the back support, which I haven’t found to be that comfortable in seats where back support already exists - like our couch or easy chair. It just sort of adds an extra lump. It also means you have to get the pillow around you before you sit down, which can be tricky when you’ve got baby in one arm. Same goes for getting out of it. Also, I am 5’6” and feel like I have to hunch over a bit for baby to reach my breasts. I think my torso is slightly longer than average, so others may not have this issue. Finally, don’t count on the pocket being of any use. It hangs right over my left knee, making it impossible to hold things like the remote control or a water bottle. I could probably stuff some tissues in there, but who would remember. (Note, I have 2 of these pillows and the pockets both hang in the same spot - not a defect). On the upside, the cover is easy to take off, wash (hang dry) and put back on.

Pro: el que se pueda amarrar permite que camines y da algo de soporte. Es ligero y puedes llevarlo a donde quieras. Funda lavable que seca rápido, muy importante para los pequeños accidentes del bebé. El tamaño y su rigidez permiten que el bebe se recueste cómodamente sin temor a que se caiga fácilmente. Contras: la calidad del material de la funda es muy pobre, se calienta demasiado y te hace sudar al igual que al bebé. Le falta altura para bebés pequeños por lo que debes usar otra cosa adicional para estar cómodo sin encorvarte. El soporte de la espalda sigo sin verle utilidad, lo siento muy grueso cuando uso el cojin en alguna silla con respaldo.
