Connect 3 in. Drain Waste Vent (DWV)/Schedule 40 (SCH40) pipe to 3 in. Sewer and Drain (SD) pipe with the PVC Adapter. The drain fitting also connects 3 in. DWV/SCH40 pipe to select drainage products compatible with 3 in. SD connections such as channel drain outlets, drainage grates, and pop-up emitters. This adapter is used to connect two different pipe types. The adapter is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and makes a Hub X Hub solvent-weld connection. Meets applicable ASTM standards. For use in non-pressurized underground sewer and drainage applications; maximum working pressure of 5 psi. Comes with one 25 ft. coil of 1/4 in. poly supply tubing. Poly tubing is constructed using a layering method for durability: the outer layer, which is exposed to the sun, and the inner layer, which is exposed to water, is made of 100% virgin content; the middle layer is composed of recycled content. As part of a complete drip irrigation system, the supply tubing transports water to the area to be irrigated; Tubing coil comes shrinkwrapped for convenience; easy to access as needed. Tubing outside diameter (OD) is 0.250 in., internal diameter (ID) is 0.170. in.; connect to main supply line with 1/4 in. micro fitting such as a barbed connector, connect other end directly to emitter to deliver water to plant. Branch off the main supply line to create a feeder line that supplies water to a low-flow, drip-watering device, or use as a main line in a small drip irrigation system; for trees, shrubs, flower beds, vegetable gardens, planter boxes, and hanging baskets.

Lifesaver - Not Available Locally!

I had a repair to make in a sewer/drain pipe and it used 3" thin wall PVC. All of the local hardware stores had 3" schedule 40 pipe and connectors. So i had all of the pipe and connectors to make my repair but i couldn't attach to the original 3" thin wall pipe. This adapter was exactly what i was looking for and it was a lifesaver. It allowed me to "convert" from the thin wall to the normal schedule 40 thick wall stuff that you find in all of the local hardware stores. Worked perfectly and allowed me to make my repair. I am considering getting a couple of more to have on hand just in case i ever have to do something like this again in the future. I hate that i wasnt able to find it anywhere local when i needed it!

Not a normal use case but worked very well

The way I used this adapter was not how it was intended to be used im sure! But I used it to create a hole for cables to run through in my ceiling. I used the larger side with a piece of pvc in the attic and popped the smaller side through the drywall. Then clamped it to a 2x4 in the attic. Worked very well for my application. Posting a review in case anyone else is thinking of doing something similar. And yes the cables were cleaned up. The picture was taken during the initial cable running process
