Newborn 375-XSP Super Smooth Rod Revolving Frame Caulking Gun, 1/10 Gallon Cartridge, 26:1 Thrust Ratio

The Newborn 375-XSP Super Smooth Rod Revolving Frame caulking gun has a steel revolving frame that fits 1/10-gal. cartridges and has a 26:1 thrust ratio for use with very high viscosity materials such as urethanes. The revolving frame allows the barrel to rotate for maintaining the same bead orientation when caulking around corners. The smooth pressure rod requires less force and is quieter than a ratchet-style pressure rod, and it is heat-treated to be longer lasting than standard pressure rods. The hammered finish handle and trigger are rubber-coated for comfort. Caulking guns, also called caulk or cartridge guns, dispense a controlled flow of products such as caulk, sealants, and adhesives from a tube or cartridge. A manual caulking gun consists of a frame which holds the tube, a trigger, and a rod which moves forward when the trigger is depressed, dispensing the product. Manual caulking guns have a thrust ratio; the higher the thrust ratio, the easier it is to dispense the caulk, sealant, or adhesive. Air-powered or pneumatic caulking guns also have a frame and a trigger, but are used with an air pressure regulator that pushes the product from the tube using air pressure instead of a rod. Newborn Brothers Company, Inc. manufactures sealant and adhesive dispensers and accessories. The company was founded in 1974 and is headquartered in Jessup, MD.

Smooth....
Great caulking gun, use it all the time. Worth spending extra to not wear out your hand. Good for one handed applications.

Still going strong after more than 5 years!
I bought this caulking gun to back up my electric caulking gun when doing auto glass. I’ve used it many times and it’s been used and abused. Auto glass urethane is super high viscosity and this pushes it out with ease. I take care of things but people who borrow those thing don’t. They’ll just put it back and not clean it and it doesn’t care. It keeps working. I just took it apart and gave it a thorough cleaning. It’s good as new.

I love this caulking gun ! One of the best and smoothest gun I’ve ever used , you get the perfect caulking lines using this gun with the smooth easy trigger and also stops on the dime when released ... I highly recommend contractors buying this gun for there company you won’t be disappointed and will never buy another gun ever again ! Only thing that disappointed me was I was sent the wrong color gun I ordered they sent me a blue gun when I ordered the red one since Red is my favorite color lol and go figure blue is my least favorite color I hate blue lol

Spare the rod, spoil the caulk gun
This is a very smooth operating, very powerful caulk gun. However, it is missing two very useful features that one would find on much less expensive models: a cutter to snip the end of a caulk tube and a puncture rod for the seal between the tube and the nozzle. I can see that because of the design a cutter might be difficult to incorporate, but it would have been very easy to add the rod to the body of the gun. It has caused me much aggravation not to mention delays looking around for a nail or an old drill bit to puncture the seal. Come on, Brothers.

Excellent for dense materials.
Excellent gun. I use it rarely, but sometimes it's a life, or rather hand saver. In some rare scenarios we use double chamber epoxy, with mixing tip. Last time we have used standard caulk gun with 10:1 ratio. Well two tubes later 3 big guys had sore hands. With this gun I went through two tubes on my own without any hustles. I would not recommend this gun for standard caulking, but for denser materials it is great.

Vital necessity
If you're using PL Premium, epoxies, and assorted adhesives this is the gun! It makes using those cartridges an easy one handed operation. For simple caulking go with something much cheaper, but for the hard to push stuff this is a must have! FIVE STARS!

Maybe too powerful
This is a very well built, high quality gun that will easily pump out any type of caulk. I have used it with dap, silicone, and geocel 2300. Unfortunately I have to return it because while it pushes out that nasty geocel with ease, it always blows out the top of the tube (an issue I never had with lower thrust guns). I did like the gun though and will be replacing it with a lower thrust Newborn gun (the 250)
