Nordic Pure MERV 10 Pleated AC Furnace Air Filters provides filtration for both home and commercial environments. Our MERV 10 furnace filters are comparable to HVAC filters with the rating of MPR 900-1000. Nordic Pure furnace air filters are manufactured using a heavy duty, moisture resistant beverage board frame and the media is electrostatically charged to attract unwanted particles. The media used will not promote the growth of bacteria or mold on the air filter and is better at trapping airborne particles than fiberglass filters. For fresh, clean air in your home and office, it is important to regularly change your AC filter to improve indoor air quality and help your HVAC unit perform more efficiently. We recommend changing your filter every 1-3 months, depending on your environment. People with pets or those who suffer from allergies should change their A/C air filters more often. Important Note: Almost all air condition filters have a different Actual Size (the exact dimensions) than Nominal Size (the name) printed on the air conditioning filter. It is best to measure the exact size of your A/C filter and compare it to our Actual Size to be sure your HVAC replacement filter fits.

Made in the USA. Nordic Pure MERV 10 is equivalent to MPR 1000. Ideal for normal air filtration and will help those with mild allergies. Measure your air filter for the exact size and compare it to our actual size to ensure proper fit. Nominal Size: 16 x 25 x 1, Actual Size: 15 1/2 x 24 1/2 x 3/4 (15.5 x 24.5 x 0.75).

Nordic Pure Cure
Don't know enough about furnace filters to say much except that my research suggests a filter that's not too dense is better for the furnace than one that forces the furnace to push air too hard. So I switched from high density Filtrete to Nordic Pure and all seems to be good.

A highly efficient home HVAC filter that pulled a lot of grunge from my system ...
The MERV factor was what I was looking for in this particular filter. I’d tried out another brand, with a MERV factor of 13, but am equally satisfied with the Nordic Pure brand. I’d read a lot of reviews on a variety of filters and these appeared to be reliable and effective. I decided to try them out to see for myself just how good they were. MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value, something that tells me exactly how efficient a filter is. We’d been using some inexpensive ones much lower MERV factor (some as low as 6), but because of the dust in this house I wanted something even more efficient. The Nordic Pure are MERV 12, one number short of the highest MERV that a household would use. Anything higher usually is used in an industrial or hospital setting. I want to eliminate as many allergens as I can from our duct system. Dirt, pollen, allergens, dust, and on and on. The usual recommend on replacing a filter is two or three months, but the Nordic Pure, as did the other ones I used, are pulling out so much from my furnace system, I decided I’ll change them out once a month. It’s a small price to pay for keeping a healthy household. I was surprised (or maybe I wasn’t) at just how much both brands of filters I used pulled out in a single month. I simply checked out the size of the filters we were already using (a must) and took a chance on ordering. Needless to say, I’m really pleased with the quality and the function of the Nordic filters. At around six dollars a month, if I so choose to swap them out, it’s a bargain. I do have a lot of allergies, but since I’ve been using a filter with a higher MERV factor, I haven’t had as many issues.

Excellent value
Good price for a good filter. Just the right amount of filtration vs. low air flow resistance.

Perfectly Sized MERV Filters
It wasn't easy finding the proper MERV rating filter for our new Two Stage Bryant AC/Furnace (recommended MERV 6 to 7). With COVID and wildfire smoke, like so many, I thought installing a filter with a higher MERV rating (MERV 11+/1085 filter) was the way to go. However, I learned that although the higher rated MERV filters are better at filtering contaminants they also reduce the airflow to the AC/Furnace which puts a strain on the unit. This became clear each time our unit turned on, the MERV 11 filter would make a popping noise due to the reduced airflow and increased suction moving through the air return. As a result, the furnace had to work much harder to get the air it needed to operate. When I remove the filter, it was actually bent from the added suction. During my research I learned that this added strain on our unit would ultimately reduce its longevity. So, I tested out several filters and found that the Nordic Pure MERV 8 was the highest MERV rated filter our system could handle safely. For air filtration of contaminants and particles 1.0-3.0 microns, I purchased a portable LEVOIT (LV-PUR131) Air Purifier for our home.

Furnace filter - does what it is supposed to do
My local stores don't always carry multipack of furnace filters, and buying them individually is just a waste of money. I like the MERV 7 as it gives me a good compromise of air flow and filtering with my old furnace. Fits the size as any 16x25x1.

Quality Filters
A high quantity furnace filter. I wouldn’t push these to the 3-month change interval limit though as they are a tight filter and the charcoal doesn’t last that long for odour reduction. I change my filters monthly but I am a bit obsessive - two months would be ok I’m sure.

I used 3M almost all the time until now
Thought I'd try this out. Very good quality filters. The carbon is very well engineered into it, doesn't powder out like cheap ones. No odor and air feels cleaner. Definitely buy these again.
