Torn, but overall think I still love them
I'm torn on this jean... At first, I was ecstatic. These fit great, definitely made me think thinner and were so freaking comfortable it was shocking. Like so comfortable I was just as happy wearing these as lounge pants. I understood what all the rage was about and the pricing. Then they got looser and looser and... I washed them. You have to wash pants of course! I followed instructions. Now suddenly the pants are too loose and aren't making me look thinner like they did before. (No sadly, I haven't lost weight!) Now that they are too loose, I'm constantly tugging at them, shifting around in them and they just fit oddly. Therefore, they are no longer comfortable. When I look in the mirror they aren't cinching in/firming up the places I need them to. I'm planning on getting another pair in black, but I think with those I will get one size smaller. It will be tough to wear a size smaller at first, but within a month I think they will then be the correct size long term. I'm hoping by changing up my sizing it will fix the problem of it changing from first wear to long term wear. UPDATE: 7 months later and there are holes on the inner thigh... :( BUT in the end, I've decided I still love them. I think the key might be to catch them on sale.

which are both super soft, hold their shape and the colors are ...
I'm 5"2" tall, about 140 lbs., almost flat butt, usually wear size 8P jeans if I've been behaving in the food dept, and wear size 10 jeans if I anticipate a big carb load during Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. I ordered the size 10 in both denium and cords, which are both super soft, hold their shape and the colors are nice (easy to match). Both cords and jeans are about 1" to long, too big around the waistline before meals and a little snug after meals, the "skinny fit" through hips and legs are not very skinny, for me their a little too baggy. The Soda Energy Slouchy Round Toe boots found on Amazon look good with these jeans to hide extra length (after adding wool insoles found on Amazon). I think the size 8 would be a better fit if I reduce the amount of carbs, it's hard to find pants that fit these days but overall these fit well.

Fits very well, butt doesn't stick out if you lean over and flattering to women with hips and thighs
The problem I have had trying to find any kind of Legging Jean has been that as soon as I lean over or squat my butt is on full display and I'm having to constantly pull them up even if I have a belt on. These are built for WOMEN! Women with REAL bodies! Not teenagers with no hips or a$$. I did the squat test and was sold! My butt was securely covered! Even without a belt on! They fit wonderfully. I am 5'5" with a 30" waist and 40" hips and the 12 short fit great (I have a long torso and short legs). I think that the company wants you to buy a size smaller, so you get their "suck you in" technology but I feel like they would be uncomfortable, even if they did suck me in. Isn't half the point of leggings to be stylish AND comfortable? They also do wonders for my butt, the pockets are a great butt to pocket size ratio and aren't spread far apart so they really flatter your tush. You don't get "Mom butt". Also, a lot of jean leggings have the tendency to stretch out like an hour after you put them on, I wore these all day and they were still going strong! Definitely recommend them, and they're great even if you have junk in your trunk!

Comfortable and Pretty Color
3 1/2 stars. These are comfortable and a nice color, but the overall look doesn't knock my socks off. I got the jeans here on Amazon for a terrific sale price, so I'm keeping them. They fit fine and I don't have "muffin top" in them. I ordinarily would've ordered a 4P, but ordered a 6P because of the comments saying they ran small. They hit my ankle, and I'd prefer them a wee bit longer (though I think that's how they're supposed to look). I don't find them particularly slimming or flattering. They're just regular old jeans, and somewhat mom-like (but that doesn't seem to be anyone else's opinion, so it must just be me). My Paige leggings are very slimming and flattering, though not nearly as comfortable as these.

Different fit from other NYDJ jeans, more skinny jeans than leggings.
EDITED December 28, 2014: My original review is below, in quotes. I'm updating based on nearly a year of wear of this style. They still fit, although they've stretched a bit and still look flattering, but they do NOT "wear like iron" as I expect from this brand. I have NYDJ jeans quite a few years older than these that look less worn, even though I've worn and washed them frequently. I have another jeans brand that cost $12.99 four years ago which I only wear for heavy house and yard work that have held up better than these. Topstiching threads have come loose, and the fabric is pilling. The price keeps rising. I paid $87.50 here - much lower than most NYDJ jeans. I liked them so much I went to my account to "buy it again." They were then $104, later $114, now $130! I had ordered a pair in black (still called Alina) from Nordstrom's. They were of even poorer quality, had fewer details and did not fit at all; I returned them. I'm thinking NYDJ contracts their manufacturing out to various factories and accepts inconsistent standards for styles they name the same. This is certainly not the way to protect a status brand. I pay for a brand because I know what to expect. I wonder now if they're made in USA because of the sloppiness of sewing and lack of uniformity of fit and style. The fabric used in the pair I own and the ones I sent back are not the same. $130 is a high price for jeans, but I'd pay it for a pair that would continue to fit and look good for a long time. I've lowered my rating to two stars because of lack of durability + increased price. (The constant price-changing on Amazon is getting on my nerves.) Original Review, December 6, 2013 "I've been buying NYDJ jeans for years and think they're great. They're expensive, but they wear like iron, fit well and are Made in USA. They hold in the tummy and lift the butt. I called their customer service and asked about the Alina style. I specifically asked about the inseam length and the person promised to find out and get back to me. That never happened. She also insisted that I should buy the same size in this style as my other NYDJ jeans - 6P. Turns out I could not zip the 6P. They also run a bit short for jeans and a little loose for leggings. Just so you know. I exchanged for 8P, had no problem with fit or comfort. I recommend them for what they are: skinny pants, not leggings."

Best Jeans!
Amazing fit, very comfortable and all for $25 who couldn't give a 5 star review!

Fit as expected. Fabric extra soft.
Being a bit larger in the rear I love these jeans. These ones fit as expected and the fabric is nice and soft without being thin. I use a fabric elastic belt since the waist is a bit big for me but I do that with all my NYDJ jeans.

I specified Alina Leggings and the inside label just says Legging.
I have previously purchased the black Alina Leggings and LOVE the fit. Hence, I was disappointed when the pants came and had a much tighter fit. I noticed the inside label said Leggings (unlike my black ones that say Alina Legging). Are they no longer making the Alina Legging or was I sent the wrong jeans?

Not there best fit ...
I like them, usually I love NYPD ... but after wearing a day the waste loosened and made me look larger than I am by sticking out, which is not what I want really! There are better fits for the larger lady of NYPD out there tbh ...
